Making my way to the west coast
« on: July 26, 2012, 04:45:17 PM »
Started out yesterday from Austin, Tx. And made it to The KOA campground just outside of Carlsbad, NM. Went to checkout the caverns today. Freakin amazing! Did a little riding through some back roads. It's a little hot out here.
Will make my way to Apache National Forest in Arizona tomorrow.
  Here's a couple of pics.

Made it through Greer Arizona. did the white mountain scenic ride all the way down to big lake. Lots of rain and no wifi. Made it to Sedona yesterday and set up in Cave Springs Campground. WOW! what a beautiful place. Will do the ride through Sycamore canyon. Heading out tomorrow to Las Vegas to visit family. Then off to San Diego. Will eventually make my way to the Sierra national forest and thento Lake Tahoe. pictures will follow shortly. BTW, the bike is running flawlessly. Don't even no the trailer is behind me.
Gonna ride now. Catch up later.

That is so cool that you are taking your wife and mother in law on this trip with you.............................that is the mother in law's seat hitched up behind the bike right?

 ;D

Looks like a really fun (but warm) trip.  I really enjoy camping off my bike.
Keeping the economy going, one tank of fuel and two tires at a time.

That would definitely be the prime spot for a mother inlaw, if I had one. Then again, I probably wouldn't take her if I did have one.
Seeing the country on a bike, and camping is the only way I like to go.

Was there a thread on Connie trailers? I know how to fish but sometimes I am to lazy to read through 1800 posts. Anybody got a line on hookin up the hitch and a trailer on a Connie?

Thanks,

Hey Gumbi,
the trailer is from Harbor Freight. It only cost $300, and you put it together yourself. it's very light and holds lots of stuff. The hitch set up was from a place in canada. I'm away from home and can't remember the name of the dealer. however, the cost was about $350. It all works well together and the bike pulls it flawlessly.

Well i finished Vegas and now in Palm Desert, Ca. Did the palm desert loop ride today. 100 miles of canyons, forest, and small towns. Lots of twisties and pretty smooth roads. This is the loop that new model bikes and cars are tested by professionals. I can see why they prefer this route. Will be headed to Caspers Wilderness Park in Orange County tomorrow, and then onto sweetwater park in San Diego.
