Title: OK 2nd drop, same as the first
Post by: gonzosc1 on September 11, 2011, 04:03:44 PM
stopping on uneven street and not paying attention sux big time.  did it again the same way I did it the first time. coming to a stop on angled street handlebars turned hit the brakes and it just sightly losses me forward and to the right. feet are down but the c14 gerth is too much for me once it passing the point of no return! so I just lay it down as best as anyone can lay one down LOL.
I guess I won't replace that mirror until I learn how to ride this monster.

Sorry to hear about your drop. I sounds like you have mastered the riding part, you just need to practice stopping. :o

glad it was a controlled drop!  This is what I remind my son everytime he hops from his bike (Ninja 250) to mine (09 connie)...don't stop with the handle bars turned or she's going down. :-).  Glad its sinking in for you too.  Safe trails brother.

yeah its a bad habit carried over from the lighter bikes.  hopefully 2 times will be enough to learn this lesson!  damage was in the same areas so it looks the same. maybe next summer I might try to replace that mirror.

i'm seriously considering getting those expensive tip over protection blocks...can't remember the name, but the ones from Germany (?) posted here in a recent post.  THey are sleek and look like part of the bike versus monkey bars hanging off the sides.

yeah I remember those, I think they were pretty costly with shipping and all. they did look damn good and would help me greatly with my cusing problem when the bike hit the ground. >:( :o
