So yes, my beloved GTR decided to take a little nap.

Was at a servo, the normal premium fuel pump was out and I was directed to the other pump next to the diesel pump where trucks fill up.

Lots of really loose fine gravel and as I pulled up I could feel my feet skitting about on this crap.

Got the bike filled up and went to move it so an old granny could take my place, started the bike, let out the clutch and it tipped just a tiny bit to the left, then my foot slipped half an inch and as you would all appreciate that was it.  Fought it all the way down to the ground, stepped off and swore up a blue streak - bloody bike isn't even three months old.

Naturally with herculean strength I ripped the bike from the ground and this joker comes over to help and almost flips it onto the other side!!!

When I finally brought myself to look at the damage it is very very minor.  Mild scuff to the black plastics of the mirror which folded in, minor scratches to the lower part of the front fairing again on the black plastic, and the pannier also only has minor scratching on the black plastic - so no paint damage to be found.  All damage you would have to go looking for to actually find and I might be able to smooth it out with some sandpaper.

I got over my tantrum within less than 20kms down the road, knew the bike was going to have a nap one day, it was inevitable, and all said and done she has gotten off very lightly indeed.

Sorry to hear about your drop.   That situation has probably happened to all of us.(I know it has to me)  Just a matter of whether you can save it or not.

 If there are any small paint scratches try some 3M rubbing compound and some elbow grease.  It's pretty mild and will show what is a real scratch and what is a mark on the clearcoat.  I've taken alot of boot marks of my bags that looked bad before and were hardly noticeable after.

Sorry to hear Glennn.

Reminds me of when I dropped mine in the garage. My wife heard me swearing up a storm and came out to see what was up. She looked at me and asked if I was going to cry, I almost did. Connie wasn't even 3 months old.

Thanks, Guys.  I think I made a baby cry I swore so loud in my rage. Poor little baby.
