new from DFW area
« on: January 29, 2018, 01:33:21 PM »
Hi all,

After lurking around here for a couple of months, I finally registered. I do owe a ton of thanks to all of y'all here for all the information I gathered from browsing here even prior to registering. Prime focus was to see if this bike fit my goals n dreams of wanting a reliable and quick machine not just for recreation but also for frequent commuting to and from work. My current ride is a 2007 (gen1) yamaha v-max and now, with a 110 mile round trip daily, carrying work stuff in a back pack gets old pretty quick, not to mention the lack of wind protection.

After looking at the usual alternatives from other manufacturers, I am very much inclined to pull the trigger on a new (left over from 2017) Concours14 from a reputed dealer in Irving, TX (Sammy White's Kawasaki). Working out some details on financing and still split between deciding on going with either the Sheffield financial offer (3.XX% APR for 36 months) OR the 0% APR for 12 months from Kawasaki.

Anyways, I look forward to being a member and part of this community and hopefully contribute to it in some way , since I have already learned so much from it already and will probably continue to do so.

Thanks!! and will post pics if the deal works out.

UPDATE!!! - EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTH. BOUGHT THE 2017 CONNIE. PICKING IT UP THIS SATURDAY!!! CANT WAIT TO THROW A LEG OVER!!!

While your at Kawasaki City.
Look up Adrian. Tell him Ted {from COG} sez hello.
Not sure which salesman your using, but I highly recommend Adrian.

PS: He may also have some leftover 16's too..

Ride safe, Ted

I surely will. In fact, Adrian is who I am getting the bike from. Likely picking it up this Saturday. U r right, he does have a 16 as well as an '18. I have to say - the metallic gray in 2018 is nicer than the black of the 2016. But the blue won me over. Hence, getting the 2017, although about a few hundred dollars more than the 2016.
