New this year in the USA: Kawasaki Versys-1000 LT
« on: January 01, 2015, 01:55:31 PM »
A heads-up to anyone purchasing this new model. It comes stock with the same plastic luggage rack as the Concours-1400. My replacement aluminum rack will fit the Versys perfectly and provides the same advantages over the stock version. Since the Versys is a dual-purpose bike any off-road use will place added stress on the plastic rack with a trunk mounted.

are you suggesting that the OEM plastic rack is not up to the task?  :yikes:

It is funny to read this as i have been considering the Versys 1000 as well.  I would be waiting until the 16 came out to get a better deal on a 15 and I am also not in position to buy right now.  First thing I noticed when looking it over online was the rack and knew it was the same.  My dilemma is moving into a 1 car garage and having room.  I could sell the Concours 14 but I have it perfect and the acceleration is addictive.  I am waiting for the bike to be in stock locally so I can get a feel for the ergos.  I was also considering the 650.  I just want a lighter option but worry that I would not be comfortable with a passenger in the Versys due to the 33" seat height.

Has anyone purchased one, test rode or opinions?
Looking at one, sat on it and drooled for a bit. Liked the riding position as best I could tell sitting on the centerstand.
thanx

They are showing up on the Versys forum.  Power and suspension.  Looks like a winner.

STEAL this one in FL!    ;D

Hi,

I don't know the gentleman, but I've spoken with him and he seems nice.  If it wasn't for wanting to put more miles on my bike I'd be all over this deal, and I just wanted to share:

I purchased this bike with the idea of doing an extended tour this summer , but plans change and this bike wants to tour. I'm selling it while it is still new.

This bike is great to ride; big, powerful, smooth and fun.

I'm lowing my asking price to $11,200.

I'm located in Cape Canaveral, Florida and can help with delivery.

For anyone interested and not on ADV forum, ping me with your contact info if you care to chat with him. I'll gladly PM him on the forum.

Saw that one several weeks ago on the Versys forum.

If it has not sold yet, I would be concerned about not buying in person and/ or the price is too high.
