Moving from an 86 C10 to 2011 C14
« on: May 25, 2016, 09:19:54 PM »
Hello,  Name is Matt.  I have been riding for about 30 years if we include dirt bikes and all.  I am picking up a 2011 C14 with 11,000 miles on it this weekend.  I loved my 86 C10 but decided to go newer.  Any tips for a Newbie?

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your purchase. Best tip I can give you is to read the various boards on the forum. Loads of information here.

Wishing you many happy and safe miles

Do NOT talk about oil and tires.
PR-3's and 4's rule, with Angel GT's a close second.
Sell the 14 and buy a vastly superior 1994-2006 Connie, and don't look back.

Oh, and welcome to the nut house :)

I came from a 2002 C10 in Aug of 2007.  More brakes, more performance (actually no comparison there), more suspension, more fun.  Welcome and bring a sense of humour, you'll do fine.
