Travling with Good Clothes

I Have an 8 hour trip to take next weekend to a wedding. I was curious to see if anybody had a good idea for packing my good clothes without them getting all wrinkled up.  Suggestions?

Ehhhh...

Starch the collar. A button down is an asset. Turn your jacket and slacks inside out, and roll everything (don't fold) the way they 'lay'. Rolling in/with a clean towel helps a bit. Pack loose.

+1 on "rolling".  Put each piece inside a plastic bag before rolling them up (Dry Cleaner plastic or trash bag).  I used to have an "airplane strapped to my butt" for work.  If you're hotel/motel'ing it, pack a couple of wire hangers.  Also get a few of those little metal spring clips (used for clamping a stack of paper).  When you arrive - unpack, unroll, get 'em on hangars, clip your wallet/keys/etc below wherever the wrinkles are the worst, hang in bathroom and take a hot shower.  Results are similar to a "steam iron".   :)

Are you staying a at a hotel?

Most hotels either have a an iron in the room or one availble to borrow at the front desk.  So pack the best you can and iron them when you get there.

One of those nice garment bags that folds in half with the handle.  Probably about the width of the back of the bike if laid across the bags.

 Actually, I've discovered wearing my good clothes is much more comfortable on the bike than jeans.

 The wedding is Saturday afternoon And I'll make part of the trip Friday night  and finish it Saturday Morning. I'm staying in a hotel Saturday Night and traveling back Sunday. Hopefully I can check into the hotel soon enough to use an Iron on them if necessary.

If no iron, use the blow dryer if available... it'll work in a pinch.

If you have a reservation, UPS the clothes to yourself care of the Hotel and your confirmation number.  You can pack them a lot looser in a larger box than you could carry on the bike.   I used to do that when I traveled for business, usually I wore Tech clothes, sometimes I would be enlisted to be the technical consultant for the salesmen.  Good Luck
