I’m mew here
« on: October 17, 2018, 08:44:06 PM »
I was referred by a COG member to here. I bought a project 2014 concourse. I got the title and key but I didn’t know about fob until lately. I believe I need an ecu and a fob to start it. I can’t wait to hear it run. I have 6 bikes and this will be the most powerful. Any help would help. I’m in Portland Oregon metro area.

Thanks!
Lee

Welcome to the forum. Plenty of knowledge here.

What happened to the FOB? I would've thought that it came with the bike....

I hope you get her started soon.

Good luck, and enjoy the read.

Welcome to the forum!  Lots of good help here.  It’s too bad that you didn’t know about the fob issue before you got the bike.  It is around $1,000.00 to get it started again.  But after that, depending on the condition of your bike, you are gonna love it.  Good luck!

Lee was asking about my spare ECU/FOB set.  It's OEM from my 2008 and has been repaired.  I know it works fine since I re-installed it into my '08 but there is the question of whether it will work in a '10.  I don't think so but I am unsure.

welcomew,
I see mew found this "other site",
before this all goes into a 3 page Q/A thing again, lots of us are on both sites, so mew will get the exact same answers, to the exact same questions, mew got  about the FOB issue...on the COG site.
Just warning, as mew didn't seem to comprehend the answers that have been supplied...

so, no, the '08 ECU/FOB combo won't work for mew, and mew still need to understand all that was posted with regards to getting the salvaged bike running.

to cut to the meat and tater's, mew need a '10-'18 MATCHED ECU AND WORKING FOB.(either passive immobilizer, or actual active FOB)

If anyone has this combo, please let him meow...
nothing short of this will work.

best of luck.

Cool. My dealership says just a big fob can do it. I’ll try to go there this or next weekend. They are holding one for me.

I believe you have to have an active or passive fob to get another programmed.  Seems like there is a communication breakdown between you and the dealer.
