Title: Brand New to the C14 and your forum
Post by: FZBear10 on May 27, 2015, 02:25:52 PM
Hello all, my name is Bear and I just purchased an 09 C14 in pristine condition. I have been riding motorcycles on and off road since I was 4. I have had all sorts of bikes and currently own a 2008 B-King along with my new to me 14. I rode it for the first time this Memorial Day and loved it. The previous owner added a ton of accessories to the bike which was a major incentive for me to buy his bike. The only thing I don't like is the Corbin seat he added, it is incredibly hard and narrow but he was a thin guy in shape. My shape is round and not in shape, so I am already looking into a replacement seat and maybe some risers for the bars to come up & back a bit. Otherwise the bike has exceeded my expectations, I was looking at F6Bs, FJRs, full baggers, but I didn't want to spend all that money on another bike. When I came across the 14 and the price, I had to find out more, so I read tons of reviews and got info from this forum. Everything was great so I pulled the trigger. My buddy and I got in his truck at 7:30am Sunday morning, left Orange County, drove to Sacramento, put the bike in the back of his truck and drove back. I could not be happier with my purchase, anyway, I hope to get to know you guys soon and looking forward to learning more about this beautiful bike with your help.

 :-[ I had no clue.....

With specs like that, I would need Velcro to keep my narrow a$$ on the seat! Like the scene from "The Masters of Menace". (If you have never seen it, check it out.  :rotflmao: )

Congrats.  I recommend changing the seat first and then deciding if you need risers.  The riding position of the Corbin made me think the bars needed to be 6 inched closer.  I'm glad I got to sit on a bike with a Corbin to know it was not for me.  I like my Sargent seat with the stock bars.

That is a good place to start. I am talking with Loren Mock at Motorbike saddles, I just need to follow up top see if they can my modify my existing seat. Here is a picture of my Burger King by the way, LOL!

Hey, Mister, ..... is that motorcycle fast?
It is truly, by far, the most insane fast motorcycle I have ever owned. It is heavy but it corners like it is on rails and the power delivery is simply stupid. The seating position is as close to perfect as can be but the fact that I am the windshield, gets old fast on long rides, otherwise it is one incredible machine.

Welcome Bear. You keeping the B-King?
I am going to see how much I like riding the C14 around town, if it is fine I will sell the King, if I find that it is a bit much for around town cruising I will keep the King and use the C14 for long distance rides only.
I am taking my seat to a local place that says they can do whatever I need for fairly cheap and I also got risers on the way. I will see what happens with the seat first. If the new seat works good with the stock bars, I will leave them alone, and sell the risers. If I still need more adjustment on the bars I will try the risers.
I am hoping this solves my comfort issues.
