Title: Throttle Lock for C10 Connie
Post by: Mort Canard on April 19, 2017, 06:21:56 AM
Have been wanting a throttle lock for a C10.  Most of the ones I have seen use a forked tab that slots over a throttle cable.  The problem is the Connie does not have a throttle cable where the throttle lock depends on having one.

What are the Throttle Locks you have found that work?  I would like to get one installed so I can give my right hand a rest from the Connie bar buzz every now and then.

I purchased my bike with the heavy Throttlemeister lock already installed.  Very well made and the extra weight is supposed to help squelch some of the vibration.  Once set, the operation is very smooth.  However, besides being very expensive, there is no simple way to engage/disengage with your right hand.  I usually reach over and set/release it with my left hand to avoid chopping the throttle.  I had the plain-jane Vista Cruise that you mentioned on my previous bike.  It was so much easier to use.  If your concerned about making the Vista Cruise work your bike, do a Google.com search for "vista cruise mod for kawasaki".  Plenty of ideas to make it work just fine.

What I did was use a barrel nut. Using a Vista Cruise I cut off the part that goes over the cable. Establish the angle that you want to use and mark it on the throttle housing. Drill a hole to run the screw thru to the nut. Don't make it too close though as it will bind the throttle. That's why you don't use a regular screw and nut. I got it at Lowes I believe. It looks like the picture below.

Timsatx,
Your pictures are not showing due to photobuckets ban on third party hosting unless you pay $400 per year.  You're probably going to have to replace your image hosting site.

Yeah, you have been 'photobucketed'. Let's make it a verb, hell, we are all suffering from being 'photobucketed'.

Kinda' like being 'disappeared' in Argentina.  :(  Given these admittedly few examples, it would seem pretty negative when we hack a noun into a verb in English....

Imgur seems to be working for me. A free site (no idea for how long though) and it is easy to use.

I am not a spokesman for them, just passing along what I have found in my own recent trials after being 'photobucketed' myself.

Brian

I'll check in to that. Last night the photos were showing.
