Navigation feature wanted!

Anyone know of a navigation app that will generate a route based upon a start and end point that will stay on certain roads if specified.  For example:  Point 1:  Beginning of Blue Ridge Parkway, Point 2:  End of Blue Ridge Parkway, Specify "stay on Blue Ridge Parkway" and the application generates a route that STAYS on the Blue Ridge Parkway?  Just trying to plan a trip and am getting frustrated with the application I am using.  (Map Source from Garmin)...  It always generates the shortest route no matter what I specify.  I can put 100's of waypoints, but thats just a time killer...

And I know.. I can always follow road signs and ignore the GPS, I was just going to use the app as a helpful planning tool...

You can "rubberband" the route in MapSource.  You can select the track and drag it to the roads that you want to use. Save the file and upload it to the GPS.
 
It becomes more intuitive each time you use it.

I think the Basecamp app is even better, although still pretty much like MapSource. To my knowledge, even the high-end GPS's (I have the Zumo 660) don't have an easy way to tell it what roads you want to be on, other than to manually select a lot of waypoints between your departure and destination points, which will force it to plan out the route using the roads you want.

But as Cigarski says, it's easy to select any roads you want on Mapsource or Basecamp by using the "Select" tool on top and then simply "pulling" the route line onto the road you actually want to use.

i have a nav app on my phone that allows me edit route by chosing, Highways, secondary roads, stay off highways, or streets, etc.

EVO 4G has two of those apps, the one I prefer is google navigation

I have several nav apps on android phone - one i always return to is the Sprint Nav for ease of use, etc. pretty accurate too.

As Cigarski and Sea Level said, this is about the easiest way to do it.  Ironically, Harley-Davidson has a great free site to use.  A few have had problems with it but I haven't.  It can export to a .gpx file that can be loaded into a high-end GPS.  It works great with my Garmin Nuvi 765T.  You will need to make an account before it will let you save, then export your routes.
