Title: Radiator hoses
Post by: Charliedog on May 24, 2018, 07:48:22 PM
Just wondering, since my 2000 C10 is approaching 18 years from the date of manufacture, and it now has 112,000 miles on it, should I be considering replacing the five radiator hoses?

Honestly, how often 'should' it be done?    As needed, or in a timely fashion?  Just peace of mind?  TIA

Depends on where you live and how/where you ride.  Up north you may never need to change.  Down south way more often.  Heat is hard on rubber/plastic.

My 88 has all it's original hoses, and they will probably outlive the bike, but I live in Iowa.  Shorter riding seasons, lower average temps.

Many owners take a preemptive approach and replace them periodically, nothing really wrong with that.  I'm sure others will give you more frequent recommendations!
