Well,
after replacing the RH forkseal 3X in the last 50K, I finally installed a set of generic Fork Gaitors. They look groovy, and hopefully will not have to mess with that again for awhile! :finger_fing11:

I'm a gaiter fan too. They go on anything I own the first time I have to do any front end pulling. It really helps the seals last!

And then you can chuck those dumb dust scrapers and reduce stiction.

Otto got gaiters back in the mid Naughties.
Have replaced the seal once since then when I replaced the fork springs/bushes and oil back in September.
Wasn't leaking but really needed to clean out the 8 year old fork oil/gloop.

Been using a set of neoprene gaitors for a few years now and very pleased with results. A zip ties keeps them secured to the fork lower. Now that I'm installing the KB fork brace I need to come up with new way to seal the gaitors to the brace. There's only going to be about an 1/8" of lowere sticking up so a zip tie won't work. Ideas?

Need to update the photo, I believe you have better caliper brackets now. Sorry - shameless plug. :-[
No fork brace either? I made a mother of a brace for mine but it was pricey.

Mine are Progrip 2510, nominally 60mm at bottom, stretch nicely to fit the 62mm slider tops.

I have no idea what size my gaiters are, sorry.
As for the better bracket ;D, here's a pic with the black wheels, Asashi rotors, but that muffler fell off so it currently has OEM mufflers in really nasty condition. ;D
Never felt the need for a fork brace. The 86-93 has a 1/4" plate one that is secured with 4 screws and that seems adequate.
Currently at a smidge under 175k miles.

Never felt the need for a fork brace. The 86-93 has a 1/4" plate one that is secured with 4 screws and that seems adequate.
I didn't feel a fork brace was needed either but manually tested I could induce movement so I made one anyway. I do feel a difference at higher speeds (120+ kph) over rough roads and moreso cornering with pillion on, it's not a lot but is there. Fork braces have a much greater effect on the post 93 bikes.
