Absolutely; I'd remove this thread if I was not still supporting the ZG1000 Concours....

Currently asking 125.00 delivered in the US; out of country pricing to be determined due to changes at the PO....

PM sent too...

One must remember that this is not T's full time job.  Right now he's up to his neck in Tug engine parts...   By the way, how is that going?

You throw enough money and manpower at a burnt out engine room and it will all work and shine once again; we sailed out of the shipyard in early March and have been operational since then.

We are down for the next couple of days with unrelated repairs to our steering system as we developed cracks in a steering actuator...

Engine fire, cracks in a steering actuator.....what next, snakes in the hold?

Well, T-Cro sent me a set of coils and his custom harness. $140 to Canada.
I was keen to get them on so I ripped into it tonight
when I got home.

20 Minutes and I was cruising the hood on a test drive.

It sure starts nicer and the throttle roll on feels much smother.

All in all, a fine product and a very happy customer.

Thanks T-Cro

Best Regards,

Dan

You are most welcome Dan; I guess the fact that I forgot to send directions was not much of a deterrent?

I really had no issues at all.
More people should go this way. It has smoothed the idle
out immensely.
Working in the Auto industry for the last 25 years helped me get
my head around it...

I wish I had thought of this.

Working in the Auto industry for the last 25 years helped me get
my head around it...

The one reason that I use the same color wires as the factory is that without thought we should want to put like colored wires together and if you do you have hooked up the wiring correctly when you install my harness.

We also think from left to right so again without thought we should want to place the # 1 wire on the left plug and so forth; but even if you thought from right to left and installed as such it still works just the same.... Thus making the harness just about a foolproof install that one would have to try very hard to install wrong ....

As to the left over red wire tape it up for a rainy day; as you can use it to switch a relay with the key to turn something else on/off.

The remaining black with yellow stripe is a ground wire; keep it out of the way or re-ground it to help strengthen the entire ground system on the bike.

Tony,

I just bought myself a 1987 Kawasaki ZL1000 and I've been told that the engine is the same as the C10 Concours.  The ZL1000 is in need of spark plugs & wires and I am interested in your stick coils.  Do you know if the stick coils will work and/or fit in the ZL1000?

Thanks, Bob T

I am from the Berkshires of western Mass.  I just bought the bike and since it needs plugs & wires I am opting for the stick coils; plus winter is coming soon I am not going to register the ZL until I get the carbs done by SISF first.

Bob T

ps, Tony, let me know when you do have your stock of stick coils available. Thanks

Ok, just wondering as we had a ZL1000 for sale around here  recently.  I went and looked at it; seems like a decent bike, just not sure it was for me.

Stupid question alert...just got my order in from Tony...what are the best plugs to use w/ this mod? Resistor or non-resistor? I Just put in DR8EA a few weeks ago, but that was with replacement resistor caps.....
