Mid Floriduh RTE, June 25th, Yalaha Bakery
« on: May 11, 2011, 08:27:31 PM »
My first post and RTE on the "new" forum.

This is another RTE in the Floriduh tradition. As in the past when it's summer, it's time to shift to a breakfast event.

This one will be at:

Yalaha Bakery
8210 County Road 48 Yalaha, FL 34797
(352)324-3366

http://www.yalahabakery.com/index.php

Plan on doing breakkie at 10am. They quit serving breakfast at 10:30.

Folks that want to swing by our house for Margie's coffee are more than welcome, starting at about 8:45am. We'll depart at about 9:15. It is about 15-20 minutes from here to there.

Our address is 669 Woodview Dr, Tavares, FL. 32778.

See my profile for a map.

ALL are welcome, COG or not.

Steve- I noticed the glaring white space in the Northwest is still not filled in. Why not?                       Tom Taylor Cog #7173.

My KLR broke down, had haul it back in a pick up to my Navy boy's house at NAS Point Mugu. Although, when I was out there two weeks ago, they had two winter storms in a row come down from Alaska. They were calling for 2-3" of rain north of San Fran, snow in the mountains. I did have to fight snow for a couple of days, one place near us got dumped on with 4 feet. Temps in Tahoe were running 30* below average. Nasty bit of luck on the bike and weather. Good news is the KLR will be fixed in a week or so, and good to go for another try at it next year.

I have to work on NW Territory, Newfoundland, and Labrador also.

Somebody, and I'm not naming names, jumped the gun on the RTE this morning. I guess folks are anxious for this, another RTE in the Floriduh tradition, to commence.

Ya shoulda come down to Sleepy Hollow, SiSF and I wound up talking to a guy that brought a really cool rat street rod. It had a whole bunch of "artistic expression" attached to it.

Anywho, see y'all on the 25th.

Later.

T'was me....such a week!  :banghead: Had no clue I was off by that far.

Margie was very hospitable by offering coffee and a cool spot for my troubles, but I figured I had disturbed too much of her free time. Started to Sleepy Hallow, but by the time I was half way over it was pushing 11. Figured I'd just round out the day with a run towards home, and play nice Dad by taking kids to Metrocon. Whoa, weird afternoon!

Anyhow Steve, please pass my sincerest apologies to Margie, and I'll still be there NEXT week! Red faced and all. :-[

No worries, Mike. Margie got a kick out of it.

SiSF and I didn't leave Sleepy Hollow till about noon or so, you shoulda stopped on by.

We probably won't be harassing you at all about it when you come by next week, on the 25th, that's a Saturday, one day after Friday the 24th, one day before Sunday the 26th, one week after Saturday the 18th.... :rotflmao:

Ok Steve,  I plan on being there for Margie's coffee. I arrive from Portland Maine Friday night so it will be nice to get back to the Florida heat.

I know what you mean about it being nice to get back in the heat. When I flew back from Cali with temps in the 60's, that fresh blast of humidity when stepping out from the airport was quite refreshing. ;)

See ya Sat.

Bring it on, it would be an honor to "tell you where to go." I'm a little light on the Cali info as I broke my KLR out there. Short trip. Still have some good stuff there, though, and others that are here may be able to help. It's all good.

Phil, the guy that met us at the campground during the Barber run, will be joining.  He recently took a position in Orlando, maybe we can talk him into buying a Kawi, too!
