Title: Yearly BRP Voyage
Post by: George R. Young on September 14, 2017, 09:26:59 AM
This week didn't look so good on the Parkway because of Irma's impact on the south end. Next week, weather looks fine, maybe even a little warm for September.

Starting Sat. Sep. 16th from Ottawa, should be at Cherokee NC on Wed., back in Ottawa by Sunday.

If you see a slightly dirty red 2001, wave.

Lovely warm weather, camped every night.

When I got to Rocky Knob on Monday night, around MP160, the camp host explained that much of the road down south was closed due to trees knocked down by Irma.

In addition, the bike headlight quit (melted connector), and there are a bunch of unlit tunnels at the south end.

So I continued south to MP 302, then turned around and headed home, riding headlight-less in daylight hours only.

Other than these minor tribulations, a great trip.
