Recognize the bike?

Ran across this on the ninja250 site. It seems this fellow

was participating in an Iron Butt Rally and took a fairly conventional picture of the bike with the New York City skyline as background, on September 6th, 2001.

Always get a chocked up seeing that view.  Even some older movies with the towers is hard to watch...

....the events of 9-11 changed both sides of the Hudson.

It appears to me that the original photo was taken from the northeast corner of the NJ Liberty State park. Specifically the northeast corner of the North Field parking lot. Looking at the historical photos in Google Earth it appears that the northeast corner of that lot has been redone as part of a memorial area and the exact spot that the photo was taken from is covered with small trees and paving stones. Assuming that you (Mr. gPink) were really referring to the present view of the Manhattan skyline, and not the foreground, I've linked photos below from Google circa August 2013. Best I can do from my recliner in Texas, perhaps a NJ local can go get us an update?..doesn't have to be a C10 in the new photo does it?

Thanks. Not much of reference point for me either. I started off in Brooklyn and it didn't even look close, so I moused over to "Joysey.

I've used Google Earth to figure out where my dad took 35mm photos back in the late 50's and early 60's.  Also used it to find cemeteries, especially where my grandfather was buried.   The tools available today just baffle the mind.
