So the wife didn't want to ride her bike on Sunday and we jump on the C-14.
After about 150 miles of riding, we caught these two Moto GP Road Racers...
Remember, I am on a Concours 14 riding two up. These guy are on CBR's.
I give them huge props, since neither of them crashed. Nor were they holding up traffic like the average HD owner.

OMG thats funny. bless his little heart trying to get a knee down.
nice view angle, where do you have the cam mounted?
-
Wow, nice road. Where is it?
-
The road is the Cherohala Skyway.
I mount the cameras; one under the left mirror. Which makes the bike look like you are hugging the yellow line and that is taboo here.
The rear is on the left side case.
I use the ContourHD.

not for nuthin Mike .You're busting on them but you are all over the road yourself ,riding both side of the centerline ,up their ass then pass on a blind curve. WTF ?
-
As I said in the post above...
The downside to where the camera is mounted is it makes it look like you are on the line when you are in the middle of the road.
Yes. I did pass them. You can see far enough ahead where I passed them.
You can see the road on the hill leading up to the pass. From the over look you can see a good half mile.
Part of riding the mountains is being able to read the road before you get there.
I ride the Cherohala more in a week than most on this forum will ride it all year.
But you are free to voice your opinion this is the internet and that is what people do best.

Yes, that is pretty funny and ditto Bless their little hearts. LOL
-
Wish you had not implied that this video was funny. If you are willing to ride more over the speed limit than they are does not necessarily mean you would beat them on a track. Oh well riding bikes is fun.
That sure looks like a nice road to ride.
Hope you stay safe.

Thanks for posting Mike! I watched it from start to finish, those look like some nice roads indeed!

I loved the Cherohala, I was fortunate enough to see very little traffic while I was on it. Riding it on a Thursday morning was an awesome experience. Thanks for posting since I haven't invested in a GoPro or Contour yet.

interseting video...you push your connie a lot harder through the corners than I do...I guess I am a little too conservative, but I still enjoy the riding...really great road...thanks for sharing

They are off of the seat without any lean angle. One guy almost got his knee down the bike was just about straight up.
With all the bikes I have in my garage, the last bike I would take to the track would be a C-14.

We are Americans free to express our opinions, however dumb they may be. ;D
You seem to understand what happens in forums on the internet. This is the way I innitially saw the video that you called funny.
You got a couple of wanna be racers out having fun. It looks like they are basically staying on their side of the road. They are probably living the dream of being outside the law by speeding. Someone is continuelly riding up on them to the point where they are intimadated and want him to go by and maybe he thinks it is funny. All of this is just what happens on the road in the USA. Hopefully you live and learn. An accident could happen to anybody at any time.
I don't mean to rain on your parade. The video is of a great road and if you had not presented it in a manner that made fun of less talented riders, I would have found it more enjoyable. Thats why I wish you had not presented this as a funny video. Maybe it is good to just laugh at things we can't change. Maybe thats what you are doing. "I'm just sayin"

I gave them props in my first post. This is an excellent place to learn how to ride fast.
The Cherohala is a good road to learn technique. Yeah... The roads are no place to do this... Blah, Blah, Blah...
We have all been at that skill level before; though some of us may have forgotten.
These guys had a good practice pace and by this time next year they will be much faster and more confident.
No… I do not have a DesmoRR. That belongs to my buddy Steve.
I went to buy a MV F4i and decided it was way to much bike for my riding area.
Then I looked at the 1098s and it too seemed too much HP for how I ride.
I bought the 848 because it is the most practical for my location and the roads which I frequent.
I have spent several thousand miles on a 1098 and I am glad I bought the 848.
The DesmoRR can get you in over your head very quickly.
There is no room for mistakes on a DesmoRR.
The Termi Exhaust on that DesmoRR cost more than a new Concours 14.
Just something to think about when you are debating that the price of your next bike might be too high.

They are off of the seat without any lean angle. One guy almost got his knee down the bike was just about straight up.
That is the basis and reason for learning good body position .
Hey, the kids were a little shakey but they are getting there.
I dont know why you feel the need to ridicule them ,if they were THAT slow then it was no real feat that you caught and passed them.
I cant make it out ,what are you saying to them when you pulled into the gas station?

If you've ever talked to sport bike riders and asked their opinion about how well a big bike like the C14 handles you would find this video funny. The rest of you should just untwist your knickers and move on.
-
1) Not bad form. not good, but not as bad as I have seen.
2) Looks like me riding my C10, but I don't put my knee out. Yes, I need to work on my form.

Dave O...
Are you a "Glass half Empty" kind of guy?
You should take another Xanax and try to smile more.
Life is much too short. Why so bitter?
PS... Reread the entire thread. All of us support the two guys.
They are learning to ride fast. And they are doing it in a safe environment... New riders are fun to watch.
I would like to see a video of you learning to ride. I bet that would be funny.

I agree with Mike. :rotflmao:
