There is a 05 with low,low mileage for sale in my area. Wants $4300 for it. Seems a bit high. Not farkled out except for a trunk. Not sure about the gold. Is that the fast color?

This time of year reflects the price.

Gold is the fastest. The people that own them just don't brag much about the fact since we want to keep it our lil' secret! 8)

I knew it, I just knew it is the fastest! I have been watching here and Graigslist for a while know. I am going to have to travel to get a deal I think. I have my 86 so am not in a hurry. Not sure I want to re-farkle either! I should just paint it GOLD!

It's not gold, it's beige!!
Remember Tommy Smothers. All the other kids had a little RED wagon and he had a BIEGE one. Nobody liked him!! :(

The color of my C10 is 82nd Airborne Maroon. It may not be the fastest color, but it is the only color that is jumpable. ;D

Blue, blue, blue is the fastest. But I will never know since I only drive the posted limits. :)

Come on guys, we settled this right before the crash of 2011. Red was the fastest.

There was never any question about that, Brent. Just some doubters.

I painted red, blue, gray, silver and green stripes on the bottom of my tank where no one can see them just to have all my bases covered!

But perhaps the unanswered (well, not really due to DarkKnight) question is "is this bike worth $4,300?"
I submit to you each has his/her own value. My '05 cost me a few hundred less than that with a shade over 11,000 miles on the odometer. I have owned several different bikes, but have never really been this content and impressed by any before this. The closest competitor was a DL650 WeeStrom. Fun bike, handled great, but not as great on the open road as Connie. Contrary to what this bike is too, a 600 plus pound top heavy beast, this bike is actually very controllable to me at slowwww speeds in parking lots, at controlled intersections, etc.
Knowing now what I didn't know then, would I pay $4300 for the bike I have now? Yup. Much more than that? Not a lot, but knowing what a great all around and dependable bike it is, it will surely be in my garage for a long time to come. :chugbeer:

You don't have to convince me Gene! I know I want a Connie because I have one! Just thinking of updating a bit. Being I do have one I am more towards looking for a deal as opposed to book price which this one is. It does not matter though as no one has contacted me back in regards to the gold beast.

WOOT! If you are in EC/NE Wisconsin (who can say "brat, eh?") here are a couple for sale, although one (an '05) is listed with a salvage title.

About a month ago I bought a 04 for $4100, in Ohio. Plus I had to put new tires on it. From looking at them for a while, that seemed like the going price for them around here. Up in michigan I seen a few listed for less. By time I would have paid for gas and the time to get there it still would have been around the same price. It all depends on where you live and if it's worth it to you. I love mine and think I made a good choice.

I agree with an earlier post that it is the season for higher prices. Summer riding and the increase in gas prices has raised the value of all bikes. I recently sold a bike I have owned for two years and got more for it than I paid.
