There's a reason phishing scams look so obvious and ridiculous; reference the Nigerian email scam. Steven Levitt in Think Like a Freak explains why these scams, including the one you found, are setup this way.  It's to eliminate "false positives", responses that would cost the scammers money, or worse, to pursue without resulting in a payoff.  Scroll to the middle of page 76 of this .pdf to read the article.

I was more impressed by the idea of someone building a chatbot that targets scammers like this.  That sounds like a worthy project for some codejunkie.
