Full 1984 GPZ 900 bodywork
« on: September 22, 2012, 03:28:20 PM »
I have looked back at many of the posts and see that the top/front fairing and instrument cluster are a plug and play switch.  How about the lowers and bottom, radiator, etc.?

I am seriously considering a full on GPZ 900 front fairing, instrument cluster, radiator and possibly 4into1 header.  Too goofy, or too difficult?
Thanks in advance.

You may be able to make it all fit.
One problem I know you will have is the header.
The mounting brackets for a Concours are too close to the engine for the GPZ Exhaust/Header to fit.
Posibly you can use the GPZ Radiator and Mount to give yourself sufficient clearance.

Ride safe, Ted

Well, I already have a contario 4-1 header, so clearance is not a problem.  I need to know if the bracket hardware will fit the concours frame.  I do not want a semi-naked as I don't like the looks of the oil cooler hanging down....

while the contatio will fit, a straight out ontario or gpz won't. The issue is that they had 16' front wheels iirc (I now the gpz1000 did) and the radiator is further forward, as allowed by the smaller front wheel. Steve

Thank you Steve.  I have the JS contario system, so it will fit.  I did note that fleabay has a GPZ 900 ontario (at least that is what they look like to me) set.  I would post, but do not know how.  Someone may be interested..

Thanks again,
John Mc

I know this is an old thread but I've been off line for the longest time. Lets just say the recession has hit me hard. Anyway, if you're still considering the the Ninja conversion here's a pic of the finished product.

Elvin, how are ya keepin? Yeah the recession screwed lots of people, some worse than others.
Me I'm earning half what I was 4 years ago but at least I'm earning. 18 months of unemployment really screws up yer finances.
Do ya still have the Connie.
