Looking through the comments it is amazing the number of people who thought the trooper was out of line for drawing her weapon and handcuffing the Miami cop.   :o  I think she handled it quite well.

I hope that moron gets some departmental discipline in addition to whatever the judgement is for his speeding.

Cops even screw with cops....just wow huh!?

Had that been a regular citizen, MANY more charges would've been filed.

Felony fleeing, for one.

       It seems to me the Trooper was just doing her job.

Trooper would've charged us with a LOT more than the cop was charged with.

personally I'd opt for disciplinary measure on BOTH of them.....simply insane behavior on the part of both, the jag-off that was rolling triple digits, and the gung-Ho officer for doing voer his speed to make the grab. of the 100+ cars and occupants she placed in emminent danger during the 'aprehension' attempt, any or many could have been killed.....

the old addage "you can't outrun the radio" comes to mind...like wtf? couldn't that have been a viable option? it WAS a MARKED emergency vehical......
and she never even pulled HIS weapon when she cuffed him...what a maroon.
I suppose he WAS late for his "second job" even though he was driving a cruiser for that purpose.....hmmmmmmm

gotta love it. ::)

I think she did take his weapon before cuffing him.  I'll have to watch it again.

OK, she cuffed him first and then took his weapon.  With the holsters the police officers use, this was probably the better choice than trying to remove the weapon from his holster while his hands were free.  The "Security Plus" holsters that many PDs use make it quite difficult to remove the firearm unless you are the one wearing the holster.  You can see she has some difficulty removing it, and she knows how it is done.

Only thing I kept seeing was flashbacks to the 'Naked Gun' TV series....  It would have been nice to see a flashing red light on the front of the troopers car.   That would have been a nice touch.

I assume you mean the old "gumball" type with the rotating light bulb(s) in it, right?

That would have been great.
