This place is like a morgue!
« on: April 09, 2014, 11:57:51 AM »
Where is everybody? What is everybody doing. Why is nobody having any motorcycle issues? Why is no one complaining about motorcycle maintenance?

For the last month or so, there is nothing going on on the Concours forums at all. What is up with that? Did everyone sell of Concours to buy FJR's? I mean I can see how that could happen with, say, 50% of the Concours out there but all of them?

I don't know, Brian.  It's so slow (all together now...How slow is it?), it's so slow that I'm jumping back and forth between our site and the UK site.

My cords are showing on the rear tire.  Should I replace it?  Should I replace it w/ a PR3 I have in the garage?  ;D

Ok, so I had a realization the other day. I never have and never will replace my own tires. I always take them to a shop. Since I only get 8-10,000 on my rear tire, then I never need to change the rear drive oil eh? I have a bottle of it, but there really is no reason for it any longer.

I have a new job and a lot less time for the forum. The good news is that I'm commuting to work on the C14 so I'm getting a lot more riding in.

I take mine to a shop as well but I do change the rear drive oil every oil change.  I probably don't have to do it but I do anyway.  I don't think you'll hurt anything by not doing it  I would check the level from time to time, though.

Battery issue??
2011 C14 purchased new from dealer in 03/2012, current miles 17,300 miles.
Driven daily to work, bike sits 2-4 days max if I'm off work.
Bike sat for 3 days and when I started it,  "Low Battery" displayed for approx 1 second.
Scrolled thru the dash displays, 14.3v displayed on the screen
While the bike was warming up, screen went to 13.9 and back to 14.3
Rode to work, 26 miles, 75-80 mph's, and dash displayed 14.4
Started bike to leave work, "Low Battery" displayed for 1 second.
2 more days rode to work and back home,  no "Low Battery".

Problem solved?  Battery just getting old? Loose connections? Get a new bike?
Any thoughts??  Thanks in advance..

You're certain this wasn't a TPMS Battery Low warning?

Problem solved - I don't think so
Battery old - could be
Loose connections - could be as well
Get new C14 - yes
Other than those thoughts - no.
