WOW! Does that ever bring back memories of so many Yes concerts in altered states. Love that band.

Too bad that Jon Anderson is no longer with them. Can't imagine the band with another singer.

This was just on the radio in my office. WXRT Chicago's Finest Rock.

My absolute favorite radio station in the world. As soon as I get north of Lafayette IN the radio goes to 93. Le tres chic Terri Hemmert got me going many mornings when I lived there. My kids have grown up knowing when we are in town they are not to touch the dial. Gimme my 93 XRT and a fresh copy of The Reader and I am a happy man.  Too bad they went off Tune in ....can't get them down here in INdiana   >:(

I've been listening to, and loving, XRT for 30 years or so now. By FAR the best radio station ever. GREAT music and intelligent DJs who don't try to be comedians. Although Frank E Lee is naturally funny.

I was listening yesterday while Terri was on. Out of the blue Paul McCartney calls her up just to chat.

You know that you can listen online right?

I grew up in Rockford, Il and WXRT was my favorite station. I've since moved  to the SF Bay area, and there is a station called KFOG that sounded suspiciously like XRT. I called in one day and mentioned the similarity to the DJ and he said that the program director used to be the PD at WXRT. Small country, huh?

Now I listen to 3WK Classic Undergroundradio, an internet station (http://www.3wk.com/player/playerNEW.php?station=classic) that is also available on iTunes radio. They play an amazing selection of little-known underground stuff from the '70s. Stuff you probably never heard of like Steely Span, Triumverat, Nektar, Bloodrock, plus standards like King Crimson, Genesis (the old Peter Gabriel stuff), etc. And of course, the Sinking of the Titanic by Jamie Brockett!

A lot of the stuff they play sounds like an old late-night program on the 50,000 watt Little Rock AM radio station KAAY (the mighty 10-90): Beaker Street with Clyde Clifford. It was a late '60s - early '70s show that came on late at night on an AM radio station that pretty much set the pattern for the progressive FM stations that came later. All you old fans can take a trip down memory lane here: http://beakerstreet.com/
