Saturday nights in Cleveland, a prominent local radio station does "Mr. Classic", and the DJ takes calls, and plays a lot of GREAT stuff, that is when it is requested...I wanna hear Alex Harvey, or the Funkadelics..or maybe some Glass Harp, wierd stuff,  most of the party animals ask for top 40 stuff, or Skynyrd, or Zep... I've called many times, and every song I've gotten on was "unique" and worth playing.... we (Dona and I) have tired of calling and waiting, and listening to bogus commercials, and maybe hearing our request... so we reverted to playing Mr. Classic on our own, in the livingroom, with the awesome stereo pumpin out 200w and the 55" big screen with YOUTUBE vids, I sit with my Nook, make play lists, and we watch... old, really different, and unique stuff in succession.... a new saturday thing we been doing for a couple months...

I can never complain living here most of my life, prolly Strawboss can also attest, this has always been THE rock place in the whole world.
I've probably passed on going to more concerts than the most avid rockers have ever been to.

I was just talking to my buddy drunk Bob the other day and we all laughed about this. Man, when this song came out we thought it was hilarious, weird, but hilarious, those Akron dudes were putting out some stuff that was out there.

what a bunch of wierd people...thier friends were even more wierd...
went to a party down @ Kent, in some high rise dorm complex(College Towers?), which got wayyyyy outta hand, this was before they ever released any albums, in 1974. I think at least 6 apartments were totally cleared thru the balcony doors, most from like the 4th floor where we were..
I wasn't right for a couple days after that...people tied like 8 or 9 extension cords together and were tossing plugged in tv's and stereos off the balconies..while one of Mark's brothers was playing the first electronic drums I ever saw, at deafening levels on the balcony...whoaaa...then campus security showed up... and brought more kegs!!!

Mahogany Rush..one of the best... i only wish they had videod it in entirety...I did manage to cop a full digitized recording of this concert a couple years back, it's priceless... Bridge of Sighs..wow.
Frank walked up from behind us, sat down, and asked if he could "share" what we were partaking... a couple passes later, he said thanks' enjoy the show, walked over to the stairs to the stage, walked out to the mic.... and pointed and thanked us...
We didn't have a clue who he was at the time... go figger. The picture below is actually the "new" Agora, the original where all these shows I'm posting about burned down in 1986; it was small by comparison, it seemed as if it only had a capacity of about 250-300 patrons or so.

before we would go to the Agora, we all would setup our recorders (8 track and reel to reel), on timers, to begin and hopefully catch the whole thing... lots of times it worked, sometimes not...and because there were always times "surprise" artists would show up, you never knew what you were gonna get, before the tape ran out.

the Agora was a relatively small venue, bar atmosphere, and held "coffebrak" concerts at 11 a.m., so we could ditch work to see coolstuff
The back wall was a complete recording studio, so everything played then was recorded, much in 32 track formats.. just wish video was as it is today, back then... drat
