That is Ravi Shankar's daughter. And I do not know if she plays the sitar or not. But if you like some of her stuff, check out Danger Mouse's Black, she does the vocals.

Brian

Went to a George Harrison concert in Tucson in the 70's. George had laryngitis so much of the concert was instrumental. After about an hour of Ravi Shankar, I was ready to walk out with much of the crowd when they pulled the plug on Ravi and up came Billy Preston to save the day. Billy was outstanding. What a great showman! Ravi was amazing for about 3 minutes and then it got so old so fast he made me want abandon all hope and kill myself.

Yeah, well I was not really commenting on whether it was good or not, merely that that guy is her father.... and he was famous for playing that particular instrument. Not a fan myself but I do like some of his daughter's stuff (Easy Boys!).

Was thinking on flying a small plane real fast, maybe the one I'm currently building. Then though of the speed of sound, settled on speed of light and tuned this one in:

No, the 'Farmers Only' song would be "Put Your Tooth Up on the Window Sill"

Southern Culture on the Skids.  I haven't seen them for a while - thanks for reminding me.  We used to catch them at the Outer Banks on vacation.  I would highly recommend them if you like small venues with a lot of audience participation and beer drinking (and the bass player ain't bad looking either).

There was a good flick on Directv on the AUDHD channel the other night on Tom Petty and Heartbreakers...  4 hours long and then two concerts that were shown.  Tom Petty is amazing.  He stood up to the Man (record companies) and won..
