Music has so involved my life for so long because I listened to the radio so much throughout the 70's and 80's and I played throughout my school career from 4th grade to 3 years or so after I graduated, 1970-1982. Music is in everything, and its everywhere, it connects us and talks to us sometimes without us even knowing it. Whenever I hear a song, I connect it to a time in my life, maybe what I was doing when I first heard it, what year it came out, who I was with. I love many types of music, my cd's may have bluegrass, rock, classical all on the same cd! I thought it would be interesting to ask if folks were like me and name a song who's first chord or note immedietely identifies it because you remember or like or just know the song. There are so many, we don't even realize it till we sit down and think about it because someone asks!

Of course, growing up with the "Buzzard", and being raised in the "Rock & Roll Capitol" may have sumpi'n doing with that passion eh? 8)

Right now, sadly Cleveland radio is about the worst I've ever seen, maybe the worst in the country as it seems wherever I go, the radio is just so much better than home. It hurts when ONE company owns virtually every station in town, I thought there was a law against that, I know there was a law that said a company couldn't own a TV AND a radio station, not sure about multiple radio stations. SOOOOO many commercials, and all at the same time so channel surfing is useless, coincidence huh? Can you say agenda? Monopoly? Cleveland radio introduced us to so many bands and singers over all those years, when no one was knew who these guys were outside their local area, we were playing them. Anyway, back to business.

"The Ocean" - Led Zepplin, plus if you get a recording that has the drummer counting off before the song starts

"jailbreak" - Thin Lizzy

"Rocky Mountain Way"- Joe Walsh

"Roller Coaster"- The Ohio Players? -I think

"Bang the Drum"- Todd Rudgren

Here's one that some of you may remember, maybe not. I can recognize this song in less that one note.

Here's one that I'd bet anyone could get in one note.

Ted Nugent - Stranglehold

I blew out a fair number of speakers back in the day on this song.
