There goes the neighborhood!

Will they be starting a sewing circle and calling themselves the Sons of Mild Disorder?

How can they be sons of anarchy? They belong to an organization with rules, regulations and a form of a governmental body in which they elect club officers....ironic, no?
And IMO the show sucks. A night time dope(soap) opera.
YMMV

From the commercials, I don't see the appeal.  Also, looks like it doesn't help our reputation as riders.

You had better stick with Dancing With The Stars.

And besides, they're the SONS of anarchy. Who listens to their parents these days?

I hear they will be running the re election bid for an un named president, they'll be busy visiting neighborhoods hanging curtains and cooking up some tasty meals 8)
They gave up knitting, seems they were worried the sharp pointing things may be dangerous :o

It's so far from real I seriously doubt they hurt our reputation, it is a form of entertainment and they do have some interesting characters, which for me make it worth space on the DVR.
You had better stick with Dancing With The Stars.
Isnt that porn?  I would never waste space on that!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure its that unrealistic.  Their are a couple of gangs in this area.......definitely some illegal stuff going on.  I work with a guy who's pledging one of the more tame groups....even his group is on the cops' list.  The other two, according to him, are defintely involved in some illegal "stuff".  I honestly didn't know that this kind of crud still happened.  Anyway I am no means an expert on the subject, I guess I just prefer good over evil........

No doubt there are some illegal activities, but the depth this show goes?  Watch it a couple of times, see if the plots/characters dont get you a little interested, it does beat the heck outa DWTS or the biggest loser, but not as good as top shot!

It's not always easy to tell the difference.

Back when SoA first came out I watched a couple of the eps from the middle of the season and I didn't like the show at all. My neighbor and I were talking and this show came up. She said that I really needed to watch it from the beginning and if I did I would like it. She lent me her season 1 DVDs and she was right. I've been watching ever since.

I just got back from a long weekend of working, hunting, and dual sporting, I have recaps of seasons 1-3 on the DVR, I would bet they will have replays, it may give you a view of the show, as Conrad said, just coming into the show it isnt all that good, understanding the plots, twists, and peculiarities makes it good.

Wasnt too shabby, I was hoping for a little more lead in as to whos who, but they sure started things off with a bang!  With the new AUSA setting up camp things should take a few new spins.

I have a college friend who I recently found on Facebook.  During the time since I saw him last (30 years), he said he became very involved with a club such as this. He says it is "scary" how accurate this show is.  Like the writers had inside guys.  I have never found out how he got out of the club, I still need to ask him about it someday.

I DVR'd last years season ender and watched that last night. I wanted to refresh my memory. I watched about half of the new before getting sleepy and hitting the hey. So far so good.

Other than the Fed woman's outcome.
I remembered that part. :)

He says it is "scary" how accurate this show is.  Like the writers had inside guys.

The producer (Katey Sagal's real life husband who plays Otto) spent time with the Hell's Angels while doing the research and developement for the show.  Also the reason they were able to get Sonny Barger to play a part (although a small one).

Off Topic but as some of y'all know that I made a very hard choice to walk away from several friendships a while back because a friend was trying too hard to have our riding group emulate SOA as well as have associations with not only HA but AN too. This Sunday I'll be getting back together with a couple of friends who have realized that the club was not worth its cost, Truth be known 8 of the original 10 members of the riding group have pulled away and the club is all but history. The so called Pres of this club was so nutz about SOA that he all but stated that watching it was compulsory.

Tony,

I hope that it doesn't sound like I'm sticking my nose into your business but you brought it up, so...

Emulate SOA in what way, as in illegal activities and such?

Sounds like the Pres has some mental issues to me, anyone we know on this board?     :rotflmao:

SOA is a TV soap opera with a biker gang slant.  Anyone wanting to emulate that in real life.....

We just watched the opener last night and while it was an hour and a half long I think it was over a half hour in commercials.  Thank goodness we have fast forward.

We like it for what it is and nothing more.  We enjoy the characters and the crazy plot lines.  Got surprised again by the ending.  It drives us insane trying to figure out what they will do next.  It's kinda like this forum....  ;)

The design of the club patch was as close to SOA without being a blantant copy as it could be; even used a 3 piece rocker which is a real no no around real biker groups. Even went so far as to make up patches with 1% ers on it too. Found out that he was taking testro shots and noticed that he was becoming more aggressive so ya I'd say he was having some mental issues.

Well in viewing this thread, and never watching the show, I pulled a couple up on the laptop. Holy crap that show sucks. I am amazed at how some of these things even get started, let alone how it can be in its 4th yr.
I won't be waisting anymore time on this show, give me Mash reruns anyday.
My $.02, enjoy.  ;)

I don't know what eps you watched Greg but as I said earlier in this thread, I thought that the show sucked too when I watched a couple of eps from the middle of the first season. When I watched from the very start I changed my tune.

It isn't very often you can take a look at one or two episodes in what I call an episodic series and know or understand whats going on unless you watch it all. Sometimes if you do you just hit certain episodes that are really just a lull in the action.

I did, however my wife likes it and I am forced to watch it as well here lately.  We saved up about 5 episodes before the season ending episode last night.  We've watched those and will find some time to watch it at some point.  I really don't care for it that much any more.  I much prefer to watch American Horror Story - Coven.  It's more violent and has the same number of sex scenes  plus there's witches and magic involved.

Kinda like Inglorious basterds where pretty much everyone got wiped out in the bar scene.

The spinoff I have heard about was talking about a pre-sequal where it is about the early days.
