Title: No longer a Concours owner
Post by: George R. Young on July 15, 2019, 07:13:59 AM
Last Saturday, a fellow from Newfoundland flew into Ottawa, packed his kit into the Concours bags, and headed out to ride back to the ferry to the 'rock'.

Slight sadness here, I've had the Concours since 2003, and I probably won't be doing any more long distance riding. On a positive note, I should have a replacement motorcycle within a week or so.

But my eBay user name is 'concoursowner', what shall I do?

Buy a C14 quick so you are not false advertising on eBay!!!

You know, I thought the same when I let go of my C14 for the Indian.  Now I can't ride that Indian enough.  So perhaps with a new bike the urge to travel far and wide will come back.

I have never done any long distance riding on my Concours.  It fills the role for comfort, convenience, reliability, and power on short or long rides.

Then why did you sell your Concours?

Change your user name to "concoursEowner".

Really?  :rotflmao:   I got a bunch of crap when I sold the C14 for the Indian Roadmaster.  That's pretty much an old man's bike.  Well, not so old.  I daresay the age bracket of these old guy bike types is very similar to ours

Well, the replacement is a 2003 Suzuki SV650S, a bit different from a Goldwing. I went to see it yesterday, had a test ride (on a gravel road, no less), everything seemed fine. The seller delivered it from Green Valley, ON to Ottawa, it's in the garage now, should be registered today. I admit to being a geezer, but not yet a sedate geezer.

Edit to add: And (!), it has a Ninja ZX14 shock to replace the stock one, so I can legitimately still call myself concoursowner on eBay. Oooeee.

Long black socks with shorts? Isn't there a law against such carnage in Canada?   ;)

I'm a former owner,  It is a sad club and I also belong to it.  I have owed 2 1000's and 3 1400's.   I am old geezer and now riding goldwing.  My hips just could not take the riding of the 1400 any longer.  Do I miss it.  "YES"  But I still ride.  But at a slightly slower pace.

Congrats!!

I loved my SV, unfortunately I had a teenage volleyball injury with my knee that caused a negative impact with comfort on that bike.  My DL650 has been the answer.  Still have my '03 Connie.

Happy miles with your new ride!!

Congratz on the SV. That's a bullet proof motor Mine (02) did about 50 track days and survived 4 or 5 crashes with only minor damage before I sold it.
