Hello from the Twin Cities
« on: April 16, 2014, 11:44:45 AM »
Thought I would drop a note and say hello to everyone since I've been lurking around for a week.

I've been riding for many years on mostly HDs and Triumphs, but I decided this time I would listen to a couple friends and check out the Concours 14.  Sure glad I did...  Just picked up my new to me 2012 c14 a week ago and could not be happier with the decision.

Now it's time to farkle it out!

Look forward to hanging out on the site.

D

P.S.  Does anyone have an opinion on good Kawasaki service in Minneapolis/St Paul area?

Hi.  I'm in SE MN, so no suggestion on dealer up there.  I used Plainview Powersports this week for some warranty work.  Great guys, work done in less than a day.

What color did you buy?

The fastest of course - Black    ;)

I'm down in SE Mn area once in a while to see my daughter in Kasson.  If I cannot find a dealer with a good reputation I may just run down there and give them a try.

Welcome to the group.  The MN-WI guys are great and get together several times a year either to ride or wrench.  I have not had much experience with dealers, other than warranty or recalls, but both Leo's South and Cities Edge have been good.  I have also used Simply Street Bikes for routine service while I wait.  Most of the events are posted on the "official site" at http://www.cog-online.org/clubportal/Calendar.cfm?clubID=1328

Hope to meet you soon.

I've heard good things about Cities Edge, but never used them personally.  Follow Back in the Saddles link and I hope to see you at a local get together!!

Welcome.  I'm from the Twin Cities also.  I can say the group here is very active but they always schedule their activities when I am busy.  Maybe I'm too busy?  Anyway, I used Simply Sport Bikes last winter for storage and some work since I was possibly moving and didn't want to ride the bike in January.  The conclusion is they did a fine job with the tasks I asked them to perform and the storage also worked out great.  Normally I'm not to keen on having others touch my bike so I can't offer any other suggestions.  I did have the Hitching Post in Hopkins do the recall stuff, but it was pretty simple so I can't say how they are on the more technical repairs.  They were pleasant to work with though.

I posted the same question in the local MN-MSTA forum and received a wide variety of replies.  Here's one of the replies. . .

"If you need maintenance call Midnight Motorcycle in Hastings. Adam(owner) and Glen(suspension guru) are both real nice, knowledgable and will take care of you."

Good Luck & Welcome
