Hey guys, lots if interesting posts on here. Very entertaining to read.

Tom, glad to hear that you're  again employed.  although its a shame as I thought that you were seeking lessons.  I was hoping to commence then on Monday. Oh, well, my loss I guess! :)

Anyways, I did air up the yiressf again and blew the weeks of dust off of my C. Went for a 2 day, 600 mile ride. The Bridgestones Are now junk after 8k miles. The PR4GT are on there way now. Hopefully getting then mounted before Thurs ride.

Nope, my loss, for sure.

Take any pics on this last trip you can share?

Where are you heading Thursday, and do you do Bike Week or leave it to Harley riders?  Just wondering... ;D ;D

Bike week.... been there, done that kind of an event for me.  Unfortunately no pics from the ride today other than one from the COG RTE lunch in Dunnellon FL. The ride up yesterday was really nice. Believe it or not, we found a Florida road with curves in it! As far as the upcoming ride on Thurs, the destination and duration are still undermined. We were discussing our tentative plans during our debriefing from our ride at the local pub :) The biggest problem currently on hand is if my new tires arrive in time before its time to leave.

The 021 Bridgestones are junk with zero miles...

That comment reminds me I need to be cautious not to push the bike too hard until I replace them. All my previous Crapstones let go without any warning, which is scary. I'll never buy that brand with my own money, even though some of their sport tires are reportedly not that bad (cars and bikes). As long as I have better options, I'm spending my money elsewhere.

Oh, and to keep my post on subject, did something simple today... but it was something ;D. Next week I'll get all of the goodies except the CopperDawg sport screen due to green paint tests I need to get first. Oh well. Hope everybody is enjoying your weekend.

I've had Bridgestone tires on various cars over the years, and they seemed OK. But IMO, the 021's are spooky and dangerous once they get stressed in high speed sweepers. I speak from my tank-slapping experience, and will tell anyone who might use the bike as it was marketed to get some real tires on it before pushing your luck and health.

Yay!!  Real tires!!

Im getting excited!!

Also looking to buy another jacket, again. I recently purchased a Tourmaster Transition 3, and it has design issues. The biggie is the claim to be waterproof. With the stiff breeze that blows through the zipper, I highly doubt that it will keep water out. So now I looking at an Olympia Ranger. The price has definitely slowed the left click finger.

My Ttourmaster JETT Series 2 jacket has double velcro flaps on the front zipper, and flaps for the zippered vents. It is waterproof.  Just too hot to wear except during the coldest days of our winters .  My favorite is my MotoBoss Mesh Jacket that started it's life as black.  It is now a nice bright shade of purple, due to sun bleaching.  Maybe not a fashion statement, but it does help with visibility.

Is the Olympic Ranger the Vent Tech model?  Nice looking jacket, not cheap, like you stated.  Will it allow enough ventilation to not be too hot for FLA weather?   My purple mesh is too hot in the summer, but we need to protect ourselves when we ride, right???   tp

Went for a back roads ride this afternoon.  Just wondering, when you see a long, straight, empty road ahead, can you resist the need to roll back on the throttle, and see the speedo way above the 110+ MPH  mark?  It's only on the C14 that this happens for me.  Am I normal, or is this just me, refusing to accept getting old???  I do hope others get the same urge as I do.  Would hate to get rid of this bike, because it is taking over my free will, when riding, yet allowing me to retain just some of my youth and insane enjoyment of life................... ;D

Me too. Turned out to be a nice day in Texas and did some back roads south of Austin. And yes coming out of some of those turns onto empty straights...  TWIST!!!!

Yep, if I couldn't ride the twisties aggressively, and ride fast (love cruising at the ton, with some WOT blasts here and there), I wouldn't own a motorcycle. I'm definitely not a cruiser guy, and don't see myself buying one ever. Had my brother's brand-new, fully-decked 2014 Harley Street Glide Special (the one with navigation, stereo, cruise control, etc) for months at my house, and just couldn't get used to that gynecological riding position. Nor the ultra limited cornering clearance, and very modest speed/acceleration. Hope to be able to keep the new Connie for a long time. If I need to raise the bars and lower the pegs later on, so be it. I'd still be able to corner, accelerate, and ride MUCH faster than on any cruiser 8). A full-on tourer could be my last bike, but don't want to think about that now ;). And VERY glad to see many folks into their 60s still riding the Connie, meaning I still have at least a decade left of sport-touring (God willing). Have a great week ahead gang.

Rostra installed, and working! It was quite a project, but IMO, it turned out great.

Yay!  Sounds scary enough I will probably never attempt it.
