Once upon a time....there was a very conservative Royal family that was polite and discreet to the extreme. If foul word or deed was expressed by anyone around them severe punishment ensued.
The eldest Prince was engaged to be married to a most acceptable Princess whose family was of course very conservatve and spoke only in the politest of terms.
The King and Queen were concerned however that the new bride and groom would be to polite to consumate the marriage so arranged to have spy listen in and report back.....only in the politest of terms upon pain of death.
So the wedding bed was prepared and the nuptials went ahead.
Next morning the King and Queen were eager to hear the details.
The spy gave his report thusly
The Prince said to his blushing bride...." I offer you my honour. " Very polite and gracious said the King....
And the Princess replied....."I am honoured by your offer." A beautiful reply said the Queen.
Now the delicate part for the spy...how to express what happened next between the newly weds....
Yes he said they continued thusly to the morning....Honour, Offer, Honour, Offer.
