Ride safe
just got off the phone with Pete, and he would like to thank all of you for your devoted trust, and patronage.
You have helped him acheive the #8 spot in the U.S.A. Kawasaki dealerships...
Kudos to all!!! ;)

Pete asked me to stress that if you send him an e-mail with all your info, PLEASE LEAVE A NUMBER HE CAN CALL YOU BACK AT, so he can securely get your charge card # that is the fastest and most efficient method for purchasing the GTPP.
He applogised for some of the missed calls, but folks need to understand he is not always there to recieve a call, so the e-mail with a callback number is still the best way to accomplish this timely
.

Also, I need to update the info needed to:

"if you do not include payment info in your email, please list a day time
phone number that the dealership can call you to obtain the payment info"

STILL $383.00 price jumped up a bit...
I just got off the phone with Pete, and he is indeed in, and doing business...
He has not recieved some of the e-mails people are saying they sent, (BE CAREFULL AND GET THE E-MAIL ADDRESS CORRECT, AS NOTED BELOW);
nor getting the messeges in a timely manner, because folks tend to attempt too long of a messege and the phone number, the important part...gets lost.

SOOOOOOO....

the most important thing you need is to get the e-mail to him  PRIOR TO CALLING HIM, so he has the info infront of him, and simply will add your credit card info verbally....safest way.
Here is what he needs to know from each one via e-mail.
Getting this
information over the phone causes too many mistakes. However, for those that
do not wish to transmit their credit cards electronically,
they may call in*** their cc # to 804-330-4800 extension 110. ***  "

I have to admit, and with great sincerity to my club, all i did was contact my dealer and open a portal...
I have a great sense of ownership when a dealer steps up, and sticks his neck on the line, especially when he trusts my (past/current) position with the group... I can only thank him greatly, and assure him that his effort, and generosity to our group, will be returned tenfold in response by us as  a whole... that my friends is all I can do.
my desire to find an outlet that will give me what I consider an acceptable outlet for what we need, as a group, has been shared. grab it up, and best wishes to y'all, I hope to see you on the road...

oh yeah, if you are in the neighborhood, stop in there and thank Pete man to man, shake his hand, and introduce youself as a true COG'r..... that's what WE do...spread the word.
and again to coin a phrase I wrote a few times..."here's the free prize, in every box..

I will add, In conversation today, Pete has specifically told me that IF you bought the bike NEW, and are THE ORIGINAL OWNER who ALREADY HAS a GTPP in effect, HE CAN and WILL be able to add additional time for the additional costs, another 36 months, but I think it is a few bucks more....still cheap.!!!!!

$339 $383 now

FROM MY FRIENDS AT ULTIMATE CYCLE:

"Hi  Rich,
Thanks for your help. Kawasaki will send out the gtpp policy and we will

Hey Rich, have I told you how much I hate you?  I had to put off the turbo for 3 more years ;)  I'l just have to live with the flies out, PCV, Autotune, AreaP Full and ZX14 TB.
I guess I'll just have to be happy with my underperforming scoot until 2014 :P

Hey, for the rest of ya, great service from Ultimate Cycle, Rich really did us a great thing, so major kudos are in order.

Would also note that this deal is available to everyone whose bike is still under warranty, even if you are the third of fourth owner.

You do not have to be the original owner of the bike to be able to make it work.  Doesn't matter what your local dealer says, as of right now anyway.

What if you just bought a bike and it is out of warranty(barely) and the Original owner didn't spring for the 3 year plan?

Outa luck.  Bike must still be under warranty at time of extended plan.

Do you know if anyone has purchased from the state of florida and if they had any issues?

Florida statutes require Florida sales of the plan, it's a contractual thing...sorry.
talk to your legislators, I see no reason this law exists, but Kaw dealers and Mamma Kaw both abide...like, "the dude Abides, Man.."
There is some "Florida specific" verbiage in the Florida contracts, not contained in the other 49 state one...go figure...and we thought Kalifornika was odd...

So, the short answer is you cannot buy GTPP from Ultimate if you purchesed and Live in Fla.

read and compare:
std form
http://www.kawasaki.com/Content/pdfs/GTPPCert.pdf (http://www.kawasaki.com/Content/pdfs/GTPPCert.pdf)

florida form
http://www.kawasaki.com/Content/pdfs/gtpp_florida.pdf (http://www.kawasaki.com/Content/pdfs/gtpp_florida.pdf)

new....washington form....
http://www.kawasaki.com/Content/pdfs/GTPP_Certif_WA-MC_Sample_2pgs.pdf (http://www.kawasaki.com/Content/pdfs/GTPP_Certif_WA-MC_Sample_2pgs.pdf)

the only differences I see are State Law contolled limitations on what can/cannot and will/will not be allowed for a return of money if/when a person buys the plan, and then changes thier mind, and wants to cancel said plan within a 60 day window....

it's all mumbo-jumbo and doesn't mean squat unless you want to cancel.

I got my extended warranty from Freemont Motors for $349.00.  I found them advertising on e-bay before this topic was posted.  I got the documents from mother Kawi shortly after I paid.  Freemont Motors goes by the screen name Budmankawa123 on e-bay.

Looked on the Kawi website -ti states you must purchase the warranty when you buy the used bike-also it may require an inspection .

Does this jibe with what you guys understand ? Also , with the florida deal, what if I purchase a bike out of state ,and then title it in fla ? Can I then still buy the warranty from an out-of-florida dealer ?

you are asking 2 different questions....be specific on the "ifs"

if you buy it out of state, and are an out of state resident, you can buy the warrenty from Pete, if you don't live in Fla.
If you buy it out of state, travel to Fla (and live in Fla) you must buy the Fla warantey...I would assume.
you are playing with state lines, taxes, warrantees, all based on suppositions, best ot be safe and make some better suppositions and choices. I ain't touchin' this one. sorry.

Dodged a bullet today. When I finally got around to getting Pete my info., he was out of the office, so my email was first seen on Thursday May 26. I look at my paperwork and it shows delivery to me on 5/23, so by the time my order is even seen I should be out of warranty by 3 days. Panic sets in and a call is placed to Pete. He calmly tells me not to worry until the actual date of warranty is determined the next day. I get a call from him today stating that the dealer registered the bike on 8/3, so I'm still into the warranty. WHEW!
One time slow was good.
Big thanks to Pete, and MOB for turning us on to Pete.

Florida regulates the warranty as insurance thereby screwing us residents. My dealer wants $440 for the extended coverage; I guess that's really not a bad deal since online options aren't available.

outragious.....simply tragic.

When Kaw sent me a form for purchasing it (they send them out to all owners sooner or later) they quoted $687 for mine....that's why went to Pete and worked out a deal.....and shared it.

Called Pete and he said to send out the info in e mail and they will process order, still $339 for 3 years.
Now that my dealer has closed I need to find another for the cold TPS issue.
Thanks for posting this, definitely saved alot of people alot of money.

Just an FYI...

I wouldn't recommend including your credit card info in an email.  Emails are not encrypted, so it would be real easy for someone to intercept and steal your information.  This is especially problematic at this time of year (holiday season) as the identity thieves always up their game as so many people are shopping online.  Would hate to see anyone get such an unwelcome "Christmas surprise".  It happened to me last December via an order through either NewEgg.com or Dell.com - both of which are very reputable and supposedly "secure" websites - and in a matter of two days some clown in Thailand had charged over $4,000 to my card.

I got in the mail today the paperwork from Kawasaki stating my Good Times Protection Plan expires 12/12/14. Thanks MOB and Pete for a good deal and the hard work to give us a little more time to warp those rotor’s. Just kidding, but still a heart felt thanks.   ;D

You have 3 years to think about it, and in six years I would hope you wouldn't need any more farkles.  The extended warranty can be purchased anytime within the current warranty time.

The've covered roters under warranty if they warp.

You do know that you can get 3 years of the  Kawasaki GTPP for just $339 (not $682), right? Just do what is stated in the first post of this thread.

I think Florida is the only state that you wouldn't be able to use the GTPP at the discounted rate of $339.  SonnyC, you should be good to go, just call the number in the beginning of this thread and you should be able to cut your "offer" in half.

Sounds like you can extend the extension?  Is that what I'm reading?

from what the O/P of the subject showed, he did exactly that, and has paper (he scanned and posted it on my GTPP thread in the COG-Online forum) showing this from Ma Kaw....now, if this IS true, we ALL need to jump fast, but I have a sinking and very pessamistic view that "it was all an error" and Kaw will not do it....we have seen these things occur, and I would hate to be out $339 on a "Mistake"...

So, hang tight till I get Pete on the horn, they are closed Monday, and I won't be able to reach him till Tuesday...I WILL let you all know if it's true.....like you say, it's a No Brainer if we can extend the extension...... 8)

Wow!  I hope this isn't too good to be true. That would give me a total of five more years!  That would make 200,000 miles while under warranty attainable for several guys.

I just sent an e-mail to Ultimate Cycle about this since they closed 20 minutes ago. I have a 2009 that is coming up for registration renewal and doesn't have the extended warranty yet, so I am looking into this.

I do know that the rotors are slightly warped, although not bad, and the TPS batteries are getting low, but other than that, nothing wrong so far (I have had the bike just under a year).

I am glad I saw the post by feelergaugephil and followed it here...

I just got off the phone with Pete, and he is indeed in, and doing business...
He has not recieved some of the e-mails people are saying they sent, (BE CAREFULL AND GET THE E-MAIL ADDRESS CORRECT, AS NOTED BELOW);
nor getting the messeges in a timely manner, because folks tend to attempt too long of a messege and the phone number, the important part...gets lost.

SOOOOOOO....

the most important thing you need is to get the e-mail to him  PRIOR TO CALLING HIM, so he has the info infront of him, and simply will add your credit card info verbally....safest way.
Here is what he needs to know from each one via e-mail.

So.... let me get this straight.

I bought my C14 new on 1/4/2009... I bought a GTPP, which I am covered by now for ~3 years, give or take a couple months.

I can buy an additional 3 years of GTPP, to extend my current 3 year GTPP, to a total of 6 years of GTPP coverage on my C14?  8)

ok, just spoke with Pete, and he is sooooo pleased withour group participation, he is extending a new and lower price for June and July only....
here's what he had to say:

"With that said, THERE IS a SPECIAL of $319 for the remainder of June and July"

Also, I need to update the info needed to:

"if you do not include payment info in your email, please list a day time
phone number that the dealership can call you to obtain the payment info"

Hows this for a screaming deal!!!  He will also offer this special to other
models from Kawasaki too for june and July ONLY!

Jump on this folks...
I think there is going to  be a price increase August 1st.

I think I want to jump on this too.  Just a few questions:

* Is the warranty transferable (like if you ever sell the bike)?  I didn't see that specifically mentioned.

* Is there any reason/way this might **** off my local dealer... having purchased it from some other dealer?  (Since I obviously would not drive all the way to Richmond to have work done on the bike).

Thanks

Yes, the warranty is transferable.  The PO purchased the warranty and I haven't had any issues with it. Not sure what to tell you about your dealer but if they have an issue with you trying to get the best deal then maybe they need to work a little harder for your future business.

No that is not true because if you look at my post my factory warranty was expired as of 3/15/2011 but I was still in my 1st extended warranty period and they went ahead and added another 3 years unto it :) and I am not the original owner either...  The original owner paid for the first warranty when he bought the bike new.  I love this bike and Kawasaki!!!  I paid $6k out the door for this 1.5 years ago with only 3k on it and it is hitting 40k know...  and that was 37k of ridding it like I stole it and grinning ear to ear each and every ride :)  Now to top it off I have no worries except wear and tear until 3/15/2017.  I dare you to find a better deal with any other manufacture.

Kwak central must be inundated with GTPPs.  Not only did I receive my update to the plan, I also received another Kwak owner's renewal in the same envelope.....it wasn't a C14.  I've forwarded it on to the rightful owner.

I have been wondering how many of these things he has sold.  I think it is really an exceptional value (which is why I bought it)- and this coming from someone who generally thinks "extended warranties" are a total waste of money.

...and neither will Kawasaki if they can prove it wasn't due to manufacturing defect.  I've read too many posts on many forums about dealers stating that something is normal wear and tear.  I have the extended warranty on all my Kawasakis, but I also have a very good report with my dealer and know he will always look for ways to make sure it is covered under warranty.  Fortunately, I have only needed to use the warranty for very minor items.  Kawasaki just makes good bikes, or I'm not very picky.

Allstate will fix it if it is broke because you broke it.  Kawasaki won't.

just got off the Phone with Pete  ;)
He just returned from a 12 day trip, with the top 20 kawasaki dealership owners and spouses, provided as a "Thank You" from kawasaki.
Ultimate Cycle made the #8 spot dealership in the United States, and he wanted to thank everyone here for the patronage, and trust in his services....

hats off to you all!!!! 8)

Oh, and I just purchased another 36 months of GTPP, which will carry me thru 7/2016... ;D

please see the original first page for contact info and instructions;
Pete asked me to stress that if you send him an e-mail with all your info, PLEASE LEAVE A NUMBER HE CAN CALL YOU BACK AT, so he can securely get your charge card # that is the fastest and most efficient method for purchasing the GTPP.
He applogised for some of the missed calls, but folks need to understand he is not always there to recieve a call, so the e-mail with a callback number is still the best way to accomplish this timely.

Just to be clear. Is this the first extension after the original 3 year or the second extension and Pete has offered a third 3 yr for a total of 12 years?

I believe the short answer is Yes.

I'm the 2nd owner so I don't know exactly when the '08 was purchased but.... On the Kawi site using my VIN, it says this:

    Your warranty expired on 08/17/2010.
Your Good Times Protection Plan expires on 08/17/2016.

I assume the first 3yr (original) started 08/18/2007
The 2nd 3yr started 08/18/2010 and expires in a week
The 3rd 3yr (which I just bought today) starts 08/18/2013

So, yes, I think Pete was offering me a 4th 3yr to extend my coverage to 08/17/2019.
I mentioned the one I bought today was my 3rd 3yr and he said it didn't matter. And he said the $339 still held for the 4th one too.

It's also interesting to note that I bought today and the Kawi site indicates the extension already.

Has anyone found out whether something along these lines is available to the Canadians that might be interested...?   I'm guessing that we can't just buy a US warranty and hope it'll be covered up here....

If nobody else has found out, I guess I'll drop a quick email to Pete and see what he says...  Just didn't want to ask him if it had been covered already.

Because, for the most part, FL has it's own way of dealing with these things and if the bike was garaged in FL you had to go through a FL dealer for the extended warranty.

How, pray tell, Daytona_Mike, did you get it for $339?

We discovered in 11/2014 that Kawasaki has now limited the GTPP to a maximum of two extensions of the original warranty for a total of 9 years maximum coverage (3 year factory warranty + 2 x 3-year GTPP).  If you had already been able to obtain three extensions of the original warranty before the policy change, it should still be honored.

I added this information to the top posting.

Thanx for the assist, I'll go back and re write all of the drivel I originally posted, GTPP is no more, there is a NEW Kawasaki program in place, Uniquely called KPP, Kawasaki Protection Plan...which is why I have to revise. Pete is still providing for all of us / you, the plan, which can be bought twice.... when I get to my computer I'll explain the new program. Fully.

GTPP new program is now called something different, all current GTPP holders are covered.

OK.  I was going to ask if there are any changes other than just the limit of renewals.  I am afraid to ask, though...

BTW- does any other Kawasaki (other than the Concours) come with a 3 year factory warranty or are they all 1 year?  And were people able to purchase GTPP/KPP for those bikes too?  And what would the extended durations be for those?  (Not that I want a different bike, I am just curious how the Concours compares).

You should get a three year factory warranty with a new purchase and then add two of these factory warrantys for a total of nine years full factory warranty. This is the same warranty the dealer will sell you for what ever he wants. Local dealer quoted me $800 even after I showed him this quote.

Yes on all questions. This is the exact GTPP warranty Kaw sells for $700+
Oh, its now called KPP, they changed the name, but its the exact same warrenty

We have no idea when this deal will evaporate, but when I talked to Pete a couple months ago, its still a green light.
Get the extension immediatly, it rolls in on the expiration date of the OEM 36 mo one, if you are smart, and plan as I did, to keep this bike forever, as soon as you get verification the first GTTP / KPP is added, buy the second one.... you cn buy 2 total, as noted, get them before they are gone....

As noted above, you can add two warranty extensions on to the original 3 year warranty. My 2008 (purchased in 2009) is warranted by Kawasaki till 2018. The extensions have to be purchased while the original is still in force.

I thought you could purchase the extensions while ANY warranty is still in force, not just the original 3 year.

I'm not sure about that. The first extension has to be purchased while the original is still in force for sure but I'm not sure about the second extension. I know that I purchased my second extension while the original was still in force.

that is correct, the first extension must be purchased prior to the OEM expiration date, so don't wait till a couple days before to try to renew... you may miss the window.

Second extension must be purchased while there is an active warranty, meaning either your first active extension, or the original OEM... (yes, you CAN buy a second extension as soon as you receive notification the first extension is recorded, even tho you are still on the original OEM plan) you have to have an active plan to purchase, that's the only stipulation, again, don't wait till a week before extension #1 expires... that in my opinion is cutting it to close, and if you cannot get in touch with the correct people there, you may again miss the window.

carry on, ride safe...

I have a 2012 that runs out of warranty in about 30 days.
The bike's warranty info is still in the previous owners name. Not sure how long it takes to get GTPP to change it to my name.
Is there a way to get the 3 years before transfer? Just to make sure it is done in time.
I don't want to have a Concours without the warranty. Just the TPS alone make it worth it.
Last year I got my local shop to come close to matching this price for my 2010. I paid $340 or $350. Well worth it. This time I call for the 2012 and they want $1600. Absolutely nuts. lol. The other guy doesn't work there anymore.

I find it amazing what some shops think their margin should be for maybe 10 minutes of paperwork.  No sales, no repair labor, no parts, no inventory, just filling out a form and faxing it.

glad to hear you got thru, he is in the peak season right now, so for others, call him... and again, they are closed on mondays...

Same deal as everyone else.  $383 is all it took along with several emails to wrap up the deal.

Thanks again Pete from Ultimate Cycle Discount MotorSports!  He also mentioned in our side discussion that he is paying 1.89 a gal for gas. Funny guy!  Give him a call if your looking to save some money.

I've been emailing with Pete to confirm the details and get him my vitals to add another 3 years to my 2014.  I thought I'd give my local dealer a shot at it, since they've generally been pretty good to work with, and even AFTER telling him that I could get it for $383 (with no tax outside of VA), the best he would do was $499+tax.  I like my local guy, but not so much that I'm going to pay him an extra $150 for nothing.  This is a great deal even at the new price.

It is only a good deal if it is actually worth the paper it is written on, and that seems like a crapshoot to some extent.

Personally I would never buy one, but I also don't go the casino or buy lottery tickets and I am mechanically capable and wouldn't trust anyone else to fix anything of mine anyways

not covered as in, the piece of paper the warranty is written on is worthless for the issue at hand

Sure he got the windshield fixed for free, woohoo---the major stuff, nope..........

I understand some people have success, but many do not (extended warranties in general, not specifically this one offered)

just so you know, and maybe shed some light on this partifular instance, I am currently in conversation with that member, and I believe Fred Harmon will be also shortly. The issue is with the particular dealership, and the way THEY have teken this on, it is not an issue with the KPP warrenty. That warranty specifically covers the broken part, and replacement. The dealership has stepped outside the acceptable realms of their obligations, and without giving more specifics here, I will say that what they told the person, and how they reported and documented it, was unacceptable. I am attempting to assist, and hopefully Fred will also, and get his issues brought before kawasaki, involving the appropriate personnel.

There are expected standards issued by Kawasaki as to obligations to provide service, this dealer is highly risking some flak, and in a nutshell, could be ostracized for their actions....

its unfortunate that a couple seedy sales outlets ruin a persons purchase experience, we are attempting to assist.

You are welcome to your opinion on the warranty deal, but enough people have benefitted from it since I got someone to offer  a great price, to outweigh the costs.

i will say, i purchased my warranty from this deal, and it was a great price. i appreciate those who put the effort to get such a great deal.
i did use the extended to cover a final drive seal leak, and a windshield motor assembly. those were cut and dry and painless repairs.

my other issue seems to be with dealers, their interpretation of the document, and phrases they like to pick out of it.
Many people have had great luck and found good dealers to get the work done. so this has been a great deal for them for sure!!

Mine already paid for itself when they replaced both TPS under extended warranty.  I know there are people who have had difficulties with certain dealers, most specifically with them dragging their feet and/or being generally uncooperative.  But we have even more reports of dealers doing the right thing.

TRANSFER RIGHTS
THIS CONTRACT MAY BE TRANSFERRED, IN CONNECTION WITH A TRANSFER OF THE PRODUCT, TO A SUBSEQUENT OWNER BEFORE THE EXPIRATION DATE WITHOUT PAYMENT OF A TRANSFER FEE. As part of the transfer process, the Product and the Contract must be re-registered in the name of the subsequent Owner within thirty (30) days of transfer and all maintenance records must accompany transfer of the Product for use by the subsequent Owner. Contact any authorized Kawasaki dealer or Kawasaki for assistance with making a transfer.

CANCELLATION
1. The Owner may cancel this Contract at any time, including when a loss of the Product occurs or when the Owner sells the Product without transfer of this Contract. To cancel, the Owner must submit a written request to the Dealer or directly to Kawasaki if the Dealer is no longer doing business.

2. Free Look Period: If the Contract is cancelled within thirty (30) days of the Contract Purchase Date and no claims have been incurred, the Owner will receive a full refund of the Contract Purchase Price.

3. Cancellation by Owner: Except as otherwise provided under “State Specific Provisions” below, if the Owner cancels this Contract more than thirty (30) days, but less than sixty (60) days from the Contract Purchase Date and no claims have been filed, the Owner will receive a full refund of the Contract Purchase Price. If this Contract is cancelled after the first sixty (60) days or if a claim has been filed, the unearned Contract Purchase Price will be refunded, calculated on a pro rata basis. The pro rata refund will be equal to the amount produced by (a) multiplying (1) the Contract Purchase Price by (2) the number of covered months (or portions thereof) remaining under the Contract Term compared to the total number of months under the Contract Term, less (b) a cancellation fee of twenty-five dollars ($25). In the event of cancellation of a financed Contract, the Lienholder identified on this Contract, if any, will be issued a cancellation refund check in its name, as its interest may appear. All refunds will be issued by the Dealer. In the event the Dealer is not currently doing business, contact Kawasaki for refund assistance.

4. Cancellation by Kawasaki: Except as otherwise provided under “State Specific Provisions” below, Kawasaki may cancel this Contract based on one or more of the following reasons: (a) non-payment of the Contract Purchase Price; (b) a material misrepresentation made by the Owner; (c) a substantial breach of duties by the Owner under this Contract relating to the Product or its use; or (d) if at any time during the Contract Term the Product is found not to meet Kawasaki’s eligibility terms of the Contract. Based upon these reasons, Kawasaki reserves the right to deny any pending claim and cancel the Contract. If Kawasaki cancels this Contract, it will refund the unearned Contract Purchase Price to the Owner calculated on a pro rata basis. The refund will be equal to the amount produced by (a) multiplying (1) the Contract Purchase Price by (2) the number of covered months (or portions thereof) remaining under the Contract Term compared to the total number of months under the Contract Term, less (b) a cancellation fee of twenty-five dollars ($25). In the event of cancellation, the Lienholder identified on this Contract, if any, will be named on the cancellation refund check, as its interest may appear.

5. Cancellation by Lienholder: If the Product and this Contract have been financed, the Lienholder shown on this Contract may cancel this Contract for non-payment or if the Product is declared a total loss or is repossessed. This right of cancellation does not confer ownership of this Contract to the Lienholder or otherwise entitle the Lienholder to performance under this Contract.

6. Refund Penalty: If Kawasaki does not pay or credit the refund owed to the Owner within thirty (30) days of Kawasaki’s receipt of Owner’s written cancellation request, a ten percent (10%) penalty per month will be added to the refund owed.

DAMAGES LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS
Unless otherwise prohibited by law, Kawasaki’s liability for breach of this agreement shall not exceed the value of repairs (including parts and labor) found to have been improperly or wrongfully denied. KAWASAKI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LOSS OF PROFITS OR INCOME, LOSS OF USE OF THE PRODUCT, EXPENSE OF RETURNING THE PRODUCT TO AN AUTHORIZED KAWASAKI DEALER, PERSONAL INJURY OR DAMAGES TO PROPERTY. 5. Regular maintenance service, adjustments or replacement of expendable maintenance items as outlined in the Owner’s Manual, including, but not limited to: filters, spark plugs, brake shoes/pads, impellers and intake grilles, mats, pads, and bumpers.

you can buy 2 extensions, as long as bike is covered by original or an extension....
you can buy the second extension the day you receive the paperwork from kaw, showing the first extensions starting date, which is the last day any existing extension is still in effect... therefore, when stacking extensions, they simply continue witghout lapse...

I now have in my hand my second extension, bought from Ultimate Kawasaki.  It was $383 but charged sales tax of $20.30 (so total of $403.30), which seems odd since it is not something physical (usually sales tax is only charged on merchandise, not services).

New contract expiration date: 04/08/2020!

Talked to Pete after purchasing a 2011 Connie.  Still had 2 years on the extended warranty from the previous owner.   Bought another three years through Pete.  Now extended to 3/2021.  Cant beat that!!

Just sent my info to Peter.

I'm not usually the type that buys an extended warranty, but I got a good deal on it when I bought the C14 back in 2010. $275 if I remember correctly.  The original has already paid for itself in three covered repairs.

Final drive leak, valve cover / o-ring leak and both TPMS.

Wayne aka "CigarSki".

I just emailed Pete about buying my second warranty thru him. I'll let you know what the final cost is once he gets back to me.

The first one paid for itself when I replaced both TPMS under it!

Cost as of 04/12/2017 is $383 thru Pete. Thru Mother Kawi it is $729.99, LOL

I called UltimateCycle today (5 Feb 18) and asked for Peter.  Mark in Finance answered and said Peter is out of town.  I told Mark "I wanted to speak to Peter because I sent him an email with the required info in reference to purchasing another GTPP 36 month extended warranty".  Mark said "I can take care of that, forward me the email that you sent Peter, to Finance@UltimateCycle.NET, which I did.

Mark called me back in under 5 minutes.  Mark said "the price is $359.00.

When Mark said "$359", I said "I was informed by COG that the price was $393 not $359, is this the same GTPP, 36 month extended warranty but for $359, did the price go down?  Mark said "Thanks for bringing up".  Mark further stated "GTPP is now called KTP.  It's the same 36 month policy but for $359.00, You'll see a $359 charge on your CC and the paperwork will be mailed out.  I said "OK, I'll pass the new price to the COG members.

The whole process sounded the same but the only difference was the price and dealing with Mark.
Does this sound "to good to be true (the price went down), anyone else renew and get the new price?

i'm surprised about the pricing, but in all probability it's completely possible the price dropped, just as it went up a couple years ago.. not a big deal, and a nice thing, so don't complain.
Mark is Pete's left hand man, and runs all the financial end of the transactions, he's completely trusted, and a good employee, so not to worry.... you should be receiving a notice from them, with a copy of your payment receipt, within a few days, so keep a lookout. Your final paperwork and card will arrive shortly thereafter.

Also, as was mentioned, the GTPP name only, was changed, it is now called KPP, and is the exact plan as before, with some additional protections and perks that were not in the original plan back in 2008.

All in all, great protection, great price, and great dealership to do business with..... I'm so glad they have kept this up for us all since I first worked with Pete to provide it.     :hail:

I've been to my 3 local Kawi dealers numerous time and always called it GTPP.  Never once was I corrected.
I'm always trolling the COG site, never heard it called anything different here also.  Anything else I might have missed..... an electric Connie... what!

Mark probably did say KPP not KTP.

It is pretty cool they put the Concours as the main photo- only fitting since it is their most reliable bike and the one with the best warranty. :)  It is not an old photo, either.

I wish I could extend mine again, but original/included 3 year used up, first 3 year extension used up, and now working on the last 2 years of the second 3 year extension.  :(

For the first time in 9 years my bike is without a warranty.

I purchased my C-14 in May of 2009 with the standard factory warranty of 3 years and I ended up purchasing two GTPP extended 3 year warranties. I'm glad to say that I never needed the extended warranties as I've never had any issues with my bike.

So, will you be buying a new C14 then? Or will you keep yours and let Mama Kaw terminate the Concours line?

No pressure, but you two hold the key.

OK, part of the key anyway.

I'm affraid that the Concours line is doomed if Kawasaki is waiting on me to buy a new one. I'm very happy with this bike and as long as my luck with it holds out with it, I'll keep it.    :)

you should be getting all your paperwork via U.S. Mail, within a week or so... when you get it, you CAN (if you have the money freed up) purchase that second extension at that time, without waiting till this new one runs out... it rolls in at the expiration date, without interruption... and saves forgetting later, or if this dealer (heaven forbid) goes out of business (I can't foresee that happening, as they are great honest people... but the plan/pricing may change or stop).

Just completed the re-up of my KPP for a second set of 3 years. Cost was $393 which beats the snot out of MaKaw's quote of $805.02! The process takes some time (Pete explained that they are open but working with minimal staff during these COVID times so all are uber busy), but was successfully completed prior to the expiration of my former KPP.

If you're considering purchasing/extending a KPP through Pete at Ultimate Cycle, I'd offer the following suggestions. 1. Start early. My understanding is a new plan does not start till the expiration of a previous plan, so if things happen quickly, it's not like you're going to lose time on your earlier KPP. However, if you delay, you may run afoul of your expiration date. 2. In working with Pete and Ultimate Cycle be patient, be persistent, be polite, and have faith. As explained, things there are hectic (apparently especially so during riding season in these COVID days) so hang in there as things get moved along.

For informational/expository purposes, here is the time-line saga of my recent KPP purchase.
1. My prior KPP expired 6/27/20.
2. I called and left a message for Pete 6/3/20.
3. I sent Pete a follow-up email 6/5/20 containing bike and prior KPP info.
4. Not hearing from Pete I called again 6/12/20 and spoke with him, gave the essential info, and he reported we were good to go.
5. Checked to see if/when the new KPP had been charged to my credit card, and it was on 6/22/20, 10 days after my conversation with Pete.
6. On 7/1/20 my new KPP card and KPP contract were mailed to me, and were received several days later. These documents indicated that the contract was completed 6/26/20 and my new KPP card states that it is valid from 6/27/20 to 6/27/23.

Zero complaints and many thanks to Pete for getting things done at such a great savings. The above items (1 - 6) are only included to affirm the need for adequate lead time, and for patience and forbearance in allowing Pete to work things through the system during difficult times.

I've got a little more than a year remaining on my first KPP. Idly wondering if it's too soon to renew. I had more than a year remaining on my original Kawi warranty when I bought the first KPP.

if you plan on keeping the bike, do it today, and don't hold out.. it rolls in on the expiration date of the current policy, and dos not effect, or shorten that policy in any way..  if you plan on selling, it also adds to the value of the bike; as it is transferable when sold. any kaw dealer, or calling Pete, can make the transfer... do it.

I think you actually answered your own question, as you bought the first renewal prior to expiration.. and it was painless.. so....
if you have the money right now, simply DO IT... later, when you are close to the end, and pinching pennies, you will regret not doing it.. when you re-up via the connect I provided, it will "roll in" on the expiration date of your currently active policy, so just go for it.. it's a selling point, and also insurance when we get close to term on the existing policy, it's kinda stupid crazy not to do it, if you expect to keep this bike.. and for the money, man, you get 2 renewals for the price Kaw wants for one.. winner winner chicken dinner..

I still say that is BS because the majority of us did not buy directly through Kawasaki, and instead used the dealer in this thread. If you need the warranty, email, and call. Give them all you pertinent information regarding your bike, and go from there. Be sure to be clear you are buying and not just inquiring. Dealers are extremely busy right now and will focus on buyers.

Once again, if you are just asking for information, I doubt they will be in a rush to call you back, it isn't worth their time. If you are buying, give them all the information they need, and they will get back to you. That is how it worked for me.
