throttle sticking
« on: July 27, 2014, 03:32:57 AM »
I have an issue with my throttle sticking. I have changed all the cables and the snap shut without issue. Looking for ideas. It was working great and then this. Two fuel filter s and nothing in them as far as dirt goes so.....lost :banghead:

maybe the cables are catching on something, turn the handle bars and watch the cables to see if they are snagging on anything, does your idle change when fully turning the bars, look at the cables down where they connect to the carbs as you twist the throttle.

Nothing on the bars affect it and the cables work great... I will be doing some more on it today. It has to be something simple that I am just missing.

Maybe it's not the cables. Is there an airbox or boot leak?

yeah if the throttle works smoothly and snaps back it must be something else, carb sync?

Always fun with the older bikes isn't it? Fix one thing and make it work great only to find that now you need to fix something else so that it will work on the same level. I did check out the boots and air box and could not find anything but between thunder storms that keep blowing through the are I could not get much done.
