Hello from UK
« on: December 08, 2012, 03:36:36 PM »
Hi all
I traded my Blackbird in several weeks ago for 2010 GTR  ;D
Have to say I love the bike tho' it doesn't quite match the bird for power
I've been looking at this forum along side the uk forum as it seems over here in the uk there have been a number of issues with the rear shock remote adjuster seizing. Has this been a problem in the states ??
Mind I don't seem to have any problem with mine at the moment, but it's tucked up in the garage for - too cold to ride!!

Welcome Teach, I've not ridden a 'bird so I can't speak to the power difference but their are ways to improve the Concours a bit. There have been instances of the of the adjuster seizing which were remedied with a shot penetrating oil around the adjuster stem.

  Welcome Teacher;
  You'll really enjoy the Concours, and this forum. A great bunch of riders here with much knowledge and humour.
 I still have an 02 Blackbird but it's nowhere as comfortable as my 2011 Concours. The Bird is faster but the Connie isn't that far behind and the creature comforts more then make up for the speed/power difference.

Welcome to the forum. I have been having the same trouble with the adjuster knob, my warranty will be running out by next March. So, I have taken it out and dropped off to my dealer. That was a week ago. They have been good to me (they have changed my front rotors twice allready) Mine is 09, and I have tried to clean it up but no change. I will let you know the outcome.

We've heard of the adjuster seizing up a time or two.  Welcome, by the way!

Alright mate, me too, traded my Blackbird in for an 08 Connie, got an 09 now.
I sure do miss the bird's power though!
Wrap up mate in that stupid weather, I'll be in it in February (going home to Manchester for 10 days)
Phil.
Dont take my LOW post count as being a new Connie owner, I have been with the "other site" before it imploded........

Teacher. I have got a call from my dealer today and they are getting me a new shock. Only cache is apparently there are quite a bit of problems with preload knob, so assembly has been back ordered. No big deal for me. I must mention, I am pretty happy with my dealer. I hope all of you guys are getting a good treatment from your dealer.
