Throttle help
« on: August 26, 2014, 06:52:21 PM »
On the way home for work today it seemed that something felt sluggish.  I realized that the throttle was not slamming shut if I eased up on it and that I would have to force it forward to reduce the engine rpm.  By the time I got home, if I didn't force the twist control forward, it would rev about 4 grand.  Any ideas or thoughts?

One of the push/pull throttle cables broke or got out of adjustment??
This street bike thing is all new to me.

Maybe a frayed cable?

Check the pull cable at the handle bar adjuster, the plastic at the end of that cable often breaks just enough to cause problems.

Figured it out.  Adjustment bolts on Cruise Control servo worked loose and caused servo cable to put tension on the throttle.  All readjusted and tightened now.
