Your favorite James Bond?
« on: June 27, 2011, 07:33:37 PM »
Ok, they're running a Bond marathon on tv right now, got me to thinking this might be a fun poll on here...

I'm probably one of the rare folks that actualy liked the Roger Moore era, probably my age (41 now) and growing up watching the Roger Moore ones. My 2nd choice is probably the Brosnan ones.

Here's a link if you need to reference it for movie/year etc:

Did you guys know a new one is coming out in 2012? Can't wait!

You forgot a Bond sir in your poll. You'll have to figure it out. Sean is Bond. But, I do like the new bloke, even if he's blond like me.

Actually, there are two missing.  Both in versions of Casino Royale.  One a movie, one a made-for-TV movie.

I'm not sure I have a favorite.  I grew up with Moore, Dalton, and Brosnan, but looking back at those movies, they were pretty bad.  Connery is pretty damn good, and his movies have stood up well to the test of time, but I've liked Craig a lot, even though Quantum of Solace was kind of weak.

Hilarious review of Quantum of Solace.  (NSFW)

I always pictured Bond as kind of half suave and half brutal. In the books he had been recruited from the British Commandos...I could never picture Roger Moore as a commando; it would mess up his hair. Connery had the right look...he looked like he could strangle a guy to death with his bare hands, straighten his tie and head downstairs to join the embassy dinner already in progress.

I liked Roger Moore's sense of humor the best and it really was more about the wiminz with his films.  The new guy/movies is all about violence (not that there's anything wrong with that).  I did like that large battles at the end of the older movies, though.

How can you beat a movie with a character named Pussy Galore? Sean Connery is the man!
