Title: Painted luggage....
Post by: sas mayhem on January 10, 2012, 11:01:43 AM
Painted luggage finally done........ it took the shop two extra week but it was well worth it.  I really didn't think it was going to turn out looking this good. IMHO. Oh!!! I added Hi reflective graphics that really shines at night and can be sent during the day? I was/might carry the design to the side panel and then to the luggage to finish it off. Or leave it as is.
Any thoughts?

Wow, really looks great.

The painting looks to be on the outsides on the bags and the top 1/2 on the tail, right?

Can you give us an idea of a rough cost of this?

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Bradley you are correct the Top 1/2 of the trunk and the outside of the tow side boxes. was painted.

The condition of the bags where fair, they had there share of some garage scuffs and gouges.  It was 3 bones OTD, I knew it was going to be labor intensive, hence the reason I didn't tackle it, but since they came out like this I'm not complaining. He did all the work for start to finish I saw them when he was still prepping them and he had them taken all apart. Time wise I gave them to him before Christmas.

I am thinking indy car style air foot with an air actuator. Should not be hard and only gains you more weight. Plus the cool factor.

Very nice job there. I don't want to alarm you, but you only have 3 colors on your stickers. I guess I'm just different that way.  :D
Looks good anyway.
Ride safe all,
Greg

That really looks good. I'd like to do mine that way.
I have the Persimmon Red color, though.
Was it that hard to fill in the surface of those bags?
