Wiseco head gasket gripe
« on: August 19, 2020, 06:53:09 PM »
I bought this expecting a Cometic shim steel coated gasket like the one that came with an earlier purchase. I could trim that if necessary, however this Victor Reinz garbage I can't.  When did Wiseco start going cheap with their overbore gaskets?

.01 clearance, I think once torqued that will close up.
Should I return it or install?  Piston shouldn't travel that far me thinks.

Wouldn't you want an overbore gasket for a ZX1000R?  The one you have shows you going to 972cc.  I believe when you go with the ZX1100 pistons it goes to 1052cc.

When I did the overbore with the ZX1100 pistons on my 99 C10, I used a new stock head gasket and opened it up some with a dremel till it was just bigger than the cylinder bore.
