Title: cell phone motorcycle mounts
Post by: mellow yellow on April 25, 2017, 07:11:24 PM
can anyone suggest any mounts for mounting a cell phone on the connie. I want something that'll handle the vibrations and bumps on the road, so that I don't have to worry about my phone taking a dive towards the pavement. Thanks

Here is something I found to be cheap simple and effective:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ICAI44S?psc=1 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ICAI44S?psc=1)

One of the things I like about it is that it is very quick to install or remove. Most of the time I don't need it so I just take it off and leave it in a side case. But when I need to use google maps for example, takes about 30 seconds to install and away I go.

I got a Techmount base, and a tech gripper for the phone. Expensive, but wth, it's only money.   Lol

I got a magnetic "mob mount" from cycle gear and stuck it on my tank. It seems to work just fine, and has a tether in case it does get jarred off. Had it for just under 1000 miles now, up to 125mph, and dragging pegs in the twisties. no complaints thus far.

This metal machining services would not be the wisest choice since they don't have anything on their page that says mounts, but it, not being on their page, could make way for the possibility of them creating customized products, which can also mean they can make those for you in a more personalized specs.

I've just ordered one of these "Perfect Squeeze" phone mounts.

My riding buddy has had nothing bad to say about it with his Galaxy Note and Otterbox case. No moving about and seems to clamp down better than the X-Grip. There are mounting options for RAM ball/arms.

i think I paid around 44 for the whole ram system. easy install, easy to put phone in and with the rubber securing it, doesn't go anywhere

Here is what I did....

Took a M20 Bolt, and had the thread machined down to a M10 Metric fine thread (1.25 pitch), with a shoulder. Then removed the handle bar bolt, and screwed in the machined bolt, and Bob's your uncle......
