what is acceptable runout for the rotors ?
« on: May 22, 2011, 02:33:09 PM »
My 2010 C-14 with ABS is starting to develop a little pulsation in the front brake lever. I did a search but came up empty when searching for some specs on this.
Does anyone know how much runout Kawasaki says is acceptable ?

.006 to .01.  Obviously the .01 is the outer limit.

Today I measured the runout on my front rotors, right side is .005, left side is .014.

Just had my 2010 rotors replaced under warranty in November with 38,000 miles on it. I had to fight a little bit, but in the end I got what was right. They quoted me just under $1,000 before I started fighting with them about it.

$1,000?   :o

What was the reason they used to try and deny warranty coverage?

The age of the bike and the miles that were on it.
Unlimited mileage/3 year warranty. Pretty easy to figure out.
