Title: Changed Brands and Styles --> Honda GL 1800
Post by: C14-Pilot on May 30, 2012, 03:51:26 AM
Guys,

I had a 2008 Kawasaki C14 that I bought on August 7, 2007 and have put just over
40k miles on it riding mostly just on weekends in the twisties on North Arkansas.
The c14 has been flawless other than a leaking valve cover gasket that I had replaced
under warranty. I had just put the 7th set of tires on it after rolling over 40k.

I had been looking for something that would be more comfortable to ride 2 up.
My wife loves to ride but the C14 just wasn't comfortable for her, she was only good
for about an hour and then her back would start hurting even with a backrest on the bike.
I went by my local Honda dealer on Friday and found a 2002 Honda Goldwing GL 1800 with only 24k miles
and the bike is in mint condition with lots of extras and so I traded bikes.

I may go back to a C14 someday especially if Kawasaki changes to the new zx14 R engine and adds factory cruise.
I plan to stay on this forum and keep up with the c14 as it evolves over the next few years.

Any of You previous Goldwing owners know of a good Goldwing forum?

Thanks guys for all the good info about the C14.
Later,
C14-Pilot

I've owned two. Last one being a 2006 model that I bought in Kentucky and rode back to Alaska. Really good bike. At one time I would rate it the best two up bike on the market but not now. It's lack of power and no 6th gear ate at me so I sold it.
BMW is stealing sales from Honda left and right with it's new Cadillac, 1600 GTL.
The forum posted previously is the best on the net.

Your wife will love the Goldwing:)

Just watch it's propensity for being attracted to Dairy Queens while wearing matching pajama riding attire, kinda like a certain brand of cruiser's aversion to short rides to the bar..... ::)
