MCenterprises crash bars and highway pegs for c14
« on: May 03, 2012, 03:05:07 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has figured out if there's any way to install highway pegs to the MC enterprises crash bars.. I do alot of long distance travel and would like to be able to stretch my legs for a bit at some point. I looked at the Buck sport touring pegs, but it looks as if they may be in the way of the crash bars.
  Any suggestions?

Did you see these?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lindby-Black-Wide-Band-Cruise-Highway-Pegs-/120902578639?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c265af1cf&vxp=mtr

I just checked them out. Says they are for 1-1/4" bar. I believe the MCenterprises bars are 1". Great looking set though.

These are nice pegs but not black if you are dead set, I guess they could be powder coated.

I found some really nice brackets and footpegs at Rivco.

The best part is that there is an adjuster screw that you can use to level the peg, even when mounted at an angle.

Here was my solution but I found the bars actually got in the way. I eventually sold the bathroom bars and have high hopes for the canyon cage.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but I'm gonna trade off for the new canyon cages. Will call Ryan first thing in the morning to order a set. They look alot better and more stylish.

 Help get us into the max discount! Like I said, the bathroom bars actually got in the way and there was no comfy location for any pegs. I must have tried 5 or 6 locations with 2 different pegs and clamps. Nothing worked well. What you see in the picture was the best I could come up with for comfort and you can see how ugly it is.

Mal's solution looks much better. But I'm confident the canyon cage will not only look better but give a log more options for highway pegs.

Bumping this thread.

As it gets closer to receiving Canyon Cages I started looking at highway pegs again today. I still have not found anything I like that. There are some really nice ones, but who really wants to spend over $250 on foot-pegs? NOT ME.

Looking for more suggestions. Obviously I prefer'em black.  ;)

I know Ryan gave us the bar diameter but I'd rather not weed through 57 pages. Anybody remember the diameter?

These are what I ordered while waiting on the canyon cages.

They are definitely heavy duty.
I looked at those when Mal posted them. The price is right, and they do look heavy duty. Just looking for other options.

Thx,

They are working out very nicely... Did a 500 mile day coming home from Kanab and they made all the difference in the world.  :D
