2,074 miles.   Would take about 3 days to get there and 5 days to get back.
Need a two bike trailer and a truck to tow everything.     and a driver.

Three days each way pulling the toy hauler. Wife's flying into Durango on Tuesday. At least that's the plan at the moment.

If I can get some more love from this site, I might go for it. I had a chance at the same ride last year from my home site, but thought it was a bit far. Looking back, I should have gone.
That's a badass place to camp. I've seen the results. 8)

Not sure about ZG and Gumby. I posted with ZG. I think he is a maybe...

I'll be coming up from Houston. Angle across thru New Mexico, and up to Cortez.
Anyone else going from Texas??? If so, what part of Texas?

Ride safe, Ted

Just talked to ZG over on the other forum and he is a go.
I was thinking him and I could meet up in Reno and ride the rest of the way together, but he's not yet sure of his route.
Never been to a national rally before, so look me up. I plan to wear a Pepsi shirt every day.
Yes I have that many. ;)

Of course there are some from Texas Ted, and you know most of us. However if you're going to be with trailer
it's doubtful our routes will be the same unless we have a mishap while there and need to beg a tow home...... :P :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

:censored: ya, I am going Brent! I made the video for the 2015 Rally. I can't wait to get back and ride more Colorado roads, and I must run the Million $ Hwy again. :chugbeer:

Jay plans on going, although it may take him a week or two to get there. 1,000+ miles  :o

Right on the second guess, sometimes an intervening link (in this case Tinyurl) works best for video link appearances in posts.
Not that Gumby is the type to worry about appearances (http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll112/tomdvaughan/2014%20Road%20Pictures/SAM_0172.jpg~original).

I'm strongly thinking about heading for the MSTA National  (Star 2015 (http://ridemsta.com/srblog/star/)) in Springdale AR.
the week after the COG National in Cortez.

Just thought I'd ask if anybody else thinking about going.
You can speak freely, I'm not going to impose myself on you with a room share request or anything like that.
I was just curious if I'm the only one that thinks like this or if there are other nut jobs discerning thinkers out there.

I think I may take a leisurely departure on Friday morning and slowly explore any of New Mexico I missed earlier and head over
to Taos and spend the night there and then head to Oklahoma City on Saturday and then on into Springdale on Sunday afternoon.
I haven't decided for sure yet, but I will soon.

This is an easy one-day ride from my house on some of the best roads on the planet. I might just have to make the trip.

As you can see by my edited original post above (yeah it's kind of messy reading now) I'm definitely planning this, possibly I'll be right behind the NO-Mar truck and can slipstream and save some gas (Joe King)..but it's been two months and no posts....so does that mean I'm the only nut job discerning thinker doing this?

I lived in the Colorado Springs area for 26 years. Now I'm in Austin. If I was still in CO I would definitely make the trip. From where you live it absolutely is "some of the best roads on the planet". 133 over McClure pass, 92 along the north rim of the black canyon, back over to Montrose, to Ouray over the million dollar highway. Motorcycle heaven for sure! Im jealous!
