6 of those pictures are located on the BRP....
I know the ones with the pines are at the "Highest point" pull off, we all have similar photos archived there over the years,
some of those others are very similar to shots i have taken of Cold mountain....
I'm thinkin more like The Pisgah inn... what say ya Jerry?

I do think those meadow shots look suspiciously like the Boyer station area though 8)

The Pisga inn Looks like a great spot.  hwy 276 would be awesome if they would pave that damn thing.  More bumps than pimples on a teenager face   :D

It is said that the rally will be held east of the mississippi River but not too far east, so now I am thinking more west of VA or NC or even WV

Just a few more weeks and we will see.  No matter, my butt will be there God willing and the creek don't rise.  Hell let the creek rise, be a good reason to get the hell out of here  :)

MOB, you plan on going  Be good to see you again.

DEFINATLY planning on the SilverDammit rally, having owned one, and currently the newer gen II
It all depends on the location and timing of work.... this year was out for a L/D rally, next year I'll have vacation accrued.... 8) and Momma won't be working next year during the rally season....heheheheheh ;)

You might want to also post something about meeting other folks and riding to TN on the COG forum. This forum is fine of course but both forums will get you even more exposure to people likely to be traveling from your general area.

Thanks Brian,......good idea .  However, I dont mind riding solo.  That's 95% of my riding anyhow :chugbeer: ;D.
I'm thinking of doing this as a "One Day Ride".  Somewhere around 700 miles?  Not hard to do on the Connie :rotflmao:

I've seen a post or two from people wanting room mates. Double check the COG site for post of that nature in the Ride section (where the 2014 National Rally is posted).

Tele130,,  Rally Central has been booked up for some time, but you can call Rally Central (Holiday Inn) and they will get you a room at the Best Western for the same discounted rate.
I understand that the Travel Lodge is nearby too and less expensive.

NOTE: Book a room NOW as I think they will all fill up soon.

Ride safe, Ted

I and some others are staying at the Super8, about a block away. $55/night if you have an AARP card.

I have so many splinters and metal shavings in my fingers they look like a pin cushion. Looks like I have about another 3 or 4 weeks before its finished. June is looking pretty good right now. After I get done with this project I am going to be ready for some adult beverages and some good ol' parking lot lying and bench racing with my COG buddies. And yes you are one of my "inner circle" folks.

just a heads-up-
the Rally Central hotel is currently fully booked, they have contracted with the Best Western Plus directly around the corner, a couple minute walk (you can see the H/I from the hotel) and have guaranteed the 79.99 room rate for the COG Block. (normal rate that week is $169/night...)
I appears to be a full service place, FREE breakfast, and A LOUNGE...

phone # is 423.282.2161

You should still call Rally Central to get on a list though and if cancellations open rooms they will call you
