Coolent level after fixing leak
« on: June 08, 2016, 06:20:25 PM »
OK, my records are not to good when it comes to my changing coolent over the yrs. I had one of the rubber hoses develop a crack and luckily I was very close to home when it puked coolent.
I found the one with the crack and have replaced with a new one, along with all the other original rubber hoses. now the question:
I looked in the shop manual, and 3.27 US quarts are the level for this bike, but I can only get 2.25 quarts in before it starts leaking out of the fill hole.
I can't find anything about coolent not completly draing out of the radiator, thus cutting down on the new re-fill.
Is this the case, and is the 2.25 about right even after what I considered a was a complete dump ?
I am in your hands oh wise ones here in Coggdum.
Thanks all, ride safe, Greg
Why did we have to run for cover with the promise of a brave new world unfold beneath the clear blue sky ?
