Dunlop Roadsmart III’s

I have not seen mNy if any threads regarding the New Roadsmarts and what if anyones opinions are of them on the 14.
Needless to say I have been running them on my GSX-S1000F for a little over 2500 miles and have been pleasantly surprised by their performance for the value. It reLly is kinda hard to pas up the $75 rebates they offer thruout the year on their tires. I just cannot justify spending close to another $100 after the rebate to put a set of Michelins on.

I got 6300 miles on mine during my trip out west. Probably had another 1000 in them but they were forcasting rain the few days home and didnt want to risk it. For referemce i only got 4500 out of PR4s, 3500 out of T30s and 4000 out of Angel GTs

I think I will try these next. The one review I was really concerned with is how difficult a time someone had mounting  the rear tire with his HF outfit. I struggle with mine on Bridgestones and the Angels. I am getting a little better but the rear tires are difficult for me.

Wow, that is either impressive or depressive, depending on your point of view :)  I got 18,000 miles on my first set of PR4GT and already at 10,300 miles on my second set and hardly see much wear yet...  and both sets performed great the whole time.

(I replaced the stock/OEM "Stones" at/after 9,400 miles, which still had significant tread left but horrible handling at that point, actually, well before that point).

3 rear tires so far and the best was 6000. The worst 4000. How do you do it Max? With your right hand behind your back?

9400 miles on the OEMs and still had tread left?!?!  Mine were bald, front and rear at just under 3500 miles! Are we talking about the same tire or did kawasaki change the OEM tire somewhere between when yours was built and when my was?

How do you do it Max? With your right hand behind your back?

1) Road condition- road conditions matter a lot and vary a lot around the country.
2) Road type- since I live in a major metropolis, perhaps around 2/3 of my mileage is slab (Interstate).  It takes quite a while to get far out enough to have enjoyable roads.
3) Weight- I only weigh 137 pounds (undressed).  I only ride solo, ever.
4) Spin- traction control always on and I very rarely slip or spin the tires.  ABS
5) Pressure- I try to ensure I am always at 42PSI.
6) GT- I use the GT not the non-GT.  Not sure how much that matters, though.

Other than that, who knows.  But by no stretch of the imagination am I "slow", however, there is only so much excitement on busy slab or when following slower bikes.

Thanks for the feedback. I have been running these on my GSX-S1000F and thought why not on the Concours. These tires have transformed this bike for me in the cofidence department. I just gould never trust the OEM stones.

I have never and I mean NEVER gotten the high mileage of others when it comes to tires. I try to minimize slab time and ride mostly twisties where the fun is LOL.

I am really pissed at Michelin for the supposedly superior PR4GT$ tires- only got 8,000 mi. before they got dangerously wonky. So, I'm back to the future with PR2's, my favorite of all tires-relatively cheap and they lasted for over 12,000 mi.

Not to mention the RS III’s are roughly $30 cheaper than the Michelins before any rebates. I saved close to $100 just going with the RS III’s.

Your mileage out of a set of tires correspond almost directly with mine.  6300 miles out of tires is a dream I hope to achieve.  I will order some ASAP. I love me a rebate!

For the record, I got about 3200 out of the stock tires that came on my bike.   I had to replace a T30 rear I got for $75 on a trip out east, had about 3k on it?    Got lucky and got a Pirelli Angel GT, 50 series though and not A-spec.  Had to pay $314 for the tire and mounting.  That's what I get for leaving on trip with a half shot tire.   But it was nice to not have to baby the tire anymore.  We left Waynesboro VA (I think) and headed west on 250 and by the time we got over the mountain, there were 0 chicken strips lol.  What a freakin road!

Those of you that have been getting in excess of 9000 miles, what part of the country do you ride in, and a bit about your riding?
I'm in South central, (live in Houston), I admit that I trailer to the events {so I don't accumulate miles on the interstate}.
Most of my riding is at COG events.
ie; Lots of twisties...

I get 4000 - 5000 miles tops. Normally less...

I got 6400 miles out of the stock tires before hitting a trailer hitch at 70 mph and bending both rims. Tires might have had another 1000 miles left.  Replaced stocks with Angel GT A-specs', front would not pass inspection this spring with 10,300 miles on it and A-spec rear is still going strong with over 14,000 miles.  I'm thinking the rear has a couple thousand more miles left.

Live in Mass and although most of my miles are highway commuting miles, I take most turns and corners aggressively.  No flat spot in the center of either front or rear tire, sides are worn down as much as the center.

Although I am forced to ride a lot of straight roads to get to places, so most of my time is straight up and down. Maybe if I lived somewhere besides cornfields, I'd be on the sides sometimes and not always straight up and down.

 I sent Dunlop had a $40 rebate on these. Still thinking of trying a set or going with the Bridgestones again.  Been using the BS 23. I like them but not the greatest mileage. Any one have any more info on the Dullaps now that  you have some miles on them?
