Happened to me twice. First time it broke about 2" from the wheel. Second time it came loose at the speedo because someone didn't tighten the replacement cable good enough. Name and address withheld upon request.

Dunno yet. May be next week before I get to it. I've got to relearn how to find an inverse matrix so that I can decrypt a Vingere code first.

   I've been working on that a long time. Ah yes, the inverse matrix!!

Yep. Speedo cable break about 2 inches from the wheel.  Easy and cheap enough to fix.  Already got one coming from Murph's!!!!

If memory serves me right, Jim, I rerouted the cable from the bracket on the back LH side of the fender and put it in the bracket that holds the brake cable. Make sure it is TIGHT on the speedo end. See a previous comment. A real PITA to reach.

Thanks for the tip.  I removed the fender bracket a long time ago because it would stay in the fender.  I had the speedo cable out last summer to grease it.  It's not too bad.  I can replace my clock lamp while I'm at it.  It went out again.

Yep.  It's back light so you can see it at night.

Could be.

When I pulled the wheel end of the cable, right at the break was a metal flange was stuck to the break.  I'm figuring something else came apart and the flange bound the cable.
