History of the Eagles
« on: July 25, 2013, 09:37:02 PM »
I was born in 70, so a lot of their music was before my time but I've always really liked the Eagles tunes.

I watched this on Showtime tonight, wow great watch, I had no idea all that story of them, I highly recommend it!

I don't have Showtime but I do love the Eagles, I graduated HS in '76. I'll have to see if I can catch this sometime on VOD. I do have access to Showtime VOD at least.

My fav song by them, hands down. This is one of those songs that I never tire of and every time I hear I have to crank it up!

You listen to both sides tell the story, Felder -vs- Frey... the only thing that is consistent, Walsh destroying rooms with chainsaws!   :rotflmao:

Ya, they had an interview with Walsh and he was talking about one time in Chicago when him and John Belushi were partying and they went to some fancy restaurant that wouldn't let them in because they had jeans on, so they went to a store bought some black spray paint and painted their jeans black and then they let them in. Said the paint got all over everything and then they went back to the hotel, partied hard doing mass blow and then totally trashed the room, it was a pretty funny story.  :)

Thanks Jay. I like the Eagles, too. I was THAT close to getting the wife to fly to Pittsburgh PA this week to see them in concert and she decided to do the responsible thing and work. I, on the other hand, did the responsible thing and was responsible for putting more miles on the bike...

So I think I might wanna pick up one of their greatest hits cd's.

What is a good one?

I always loved the Stones, did the Eagles do a greatest hits type album like the Stones did with Hot Rocks? Something that's like a dual cd set and covers all their different songs through time? :-\

Eagles were live in Cleveland last week..I missed them.
Just drop the wad on the box set at Barns and Noble... anything less is like styrofoam cupcakes... I have everything they ever put out, and the box set has all of the originals in one pack.

On a lighter side, ol' Joe Walsh was in a band that lived around the block from me when I was in HIGH school... the James Gang,  many nights and weekends were spent in that garage listening to them refine their sound....me, I sat on the chest freezer and rolled spleeefs.... heheheh

I saw the Eagles in one of their last shows before they broke up. I was in the Navy and it was at Aloha Stadium in Hawaii. Jimmy Buffet opened the show. It was the best concert I have been too. The only thing that would have made it better was if Buffet would have played Margaritaville. For whatever reason he refused to play it even with everyone hollering out for him to play it. This was in 1979 just before we moved to Bremerton, Wa. I have always liked The Eagle. It seems that none of their song are bad ones.

I had to get out my Eagles Long Run album and listen to it while I mowed the lawn yesterday cuz of this thread.

Damn, I almost forgot how good that album was!

This song kicks ass but didn't get much airplay.
