For you tincan soldiers out there and anyone else with an oz of pride in our Navy.

A very good read is 'The Last Stand of the Tincan Sailors'

This book will bring tears to your eyes.  America's best (Taffy 3) fighting off a Japanese armada heck bent on destroying our invasion of the Philippines.   They had no chance to win but they fought on with destroyers, destroyer escorts, and escort carriers against heavy cruisers and battleships....  I have to stop.  This is bringing tears to my eyes thinking about it.  I'm an AF guy.  This stuff shouldn't affect me like this.... :'(   It was a suicide mission...
